Hi!

So sadly, this story is coming to an end. There is probably going to be around four or five chapters left, so it's not over yet, but the end is near.

I hope you like this chapter, because on Gwen's part a lot happens.

This song is Somebody to Die For by Hurts and I really hope you watch and enjoy it!

As always, please read and review!

Peter frantically began dialing Gwen's number as he started crawling out of the sewer.  After a few rings, she finally answered. "Hey," she said breathlessly.

"Gwen!" He exclaimed, not being able to remember a time when he was more relieved, "Oh, Gwen."

"Peter? What's wrong?" Gwen asked.

"Right now everything's fine," Peter said. "Gwen, listen to me. Where are you at?"

"At home." She responded. "What's going on?"

"Gwen, you need to stay there." Peter ordered.

"Why?! Peter, tell me what's going on?!" Gwen said, beginning to become annoyed.

He took a deep breath "Harry. He knows I'm Spiderman, and is target is going to be you."

"You don't know that, Peter." Gwen tried convincing him.

"But, Gwen I do! Stay there!" Peter said, his patience beginning to thin.

"I can't. Mom scheduled an appointment for me later this afternoon-" Gwe started, but was cut off by Peter.

"Gwen! Gosh darnit! Why won't you listen, just stay there!" Peter practically yelled, losing his patience all together.

Gwen was taken aback at his outburst. Peter had never spoken to her like that. Realizing what had happened, Peter immediatley began to apologize. "Oh, Gwenie, I'm so sorry, I just want you to be safe-"

"Be safe?" Gwen snorted. "No, Peter, just shut up, okay? I will never be safe! Don't you understand? I have cancer- this is going to kill me! I have under a month to live, I really don't think you ordering me to stay home is going to change anything! Me dying in a month or today? It doesn't make much difference is there? There is no difference."

"No, Gwen," Peter said gently. He wanted to tell her how close he was to finding a cure for her. If he only had more time and a little more help, she would live.

"Peter, just stop worrrying about me." Gwen said, quieting her voice. "Fight the Goblin. Save the city. Because I know you can do it. I love you, bug boy, okay? Please don't ever think I don't. But I need you to leave me alone. Please. For me."

She felt like trash doing this to Peter, but she didn't want to fight anymore. She didn't want to constantly feel death looming over her. She didn't want this. And she didn't want Peter to suffer the same way she was; he didn't need to always have to worry about her safety. And thats's why she completely ended the call, not even waiting for his response.

But instead of feeling relieved, Gwen felt complete and utter emptiness. A tear fell down her cheek, soon follwed by another.

"You don't mean that, do you?" Startled, Gwen turned around to see Mary Jane standing in her room.

"How did you...?" Gwen asked, trying to hide her tears.

"Your mom let me in," MJ responded and took a seat at Gwen's desk. "Gwen, what was all that about?"

"Oh, it was nothing," Gwen said and began to fake a smile.

MJ shook her head, "No it wasn't, Gwen Stacy." She paused. "It was Peter, wasn't it?"

Gwen nodded, and could only hope her friend didn't think hear anything else said. If she found out he was Spiderman...

"What did he do you to, Gwen?" MJ asked.

"MJ, it was nothing. Just a regular couple fighting." But MJ gave her a cold stare.

"Why can't you trust me, Gwen? You used to tell me everything."

"I'm sorry, if I could I would," Gwen pleaded. "Just understand. Please."

MJ sighed and looked around her friend's room, thinking. "Don't stop fighting, Gwen."

Gwen was surprised, "What do you mean?"

MJ gave her friend a look, "Gwen Stacy, let me tell say you are never good at talking in your head."

She turned a red red, embarassed her friend had heard her thoughts. "Gwen, you need to let your life live out as long as possible. A day and a month are a huge difference, and don't you dare think otherwise. Every single day of your life counts."

Gwen didn't say anything, just sat deep in thought. Then Gwen's mom came into her daughter's room, "Hey, Gwen darling, we're going to have to cancel your appointment for this afternnoon?"

"Why?"

Mrs. Stacy sighed. "I'm afriad it's all over the news. There's another fight between Green Goblin and Spiderman going on."

Gwen's stomach dropped, "Oh..okay." Gwen said as calmy as she could.

"Come on," MJ said, grabbing her friend's arm. "Let's go watch the news, shall we?"
