Hello!

Wow, two chapters in one day! I am actually really proud of myself for this!

So, how did you like the interaction between Gwen and her brother in the last chapter? Even though they didn't play a huge part of the movies, I really enjoyed the small parts they did have, and wanted to be able to add them into this story.

This song is called Teenage Dream by Katy Perry; I hope you like it!

Well, here's Chapter Twelve, please read and review!

Peter winced and let out a groan.

"Sorry," Gwen said under her breath, as she dragged the rag across his skin.

A few minutes in silence passed, before out of nowhere, Peter said, "I love you, Gwen."

Gwen looked up and locked eyes with Peter before continuing to wash his cuts, "I love you too, Peter."

Peter shook his head and just as Gwen was about to bring the rag back to his chest, he grabbed her hand, stopping her. "No, I don't think you understand how much I love you."

She sighed, "Peter...."

"No, Gwen, let me talk," Peter said, "I love you so much, I have no idea what I would do without you. When I'm with you, I get this really weird feeling, but it's not weird, it's perfect."

Gwen laughed slightly at his choice of words, before he continued, "And when I'm not with you, I feel...empty."

"Empty?" Gwen scoffed.

"Hey, smooth-talking was never my thing you know that!" Peter said.

"And I love you for it," Gwen said, smiling.

Peter smiled, "Gwen, I really don't know what I'm going to do without you. I don't want you to leave me," Peter said, tears beginning to pool in his eyes, "And I feel so useless. I'm Spiderman, people in the city call me a hero! A hero is supposed to save people, Gwen."

"Peter, don't think like that," Gwen said, and started to wipe the tears away from his eyes, the same way he had done to her so many times before. "You can't save everybody, it's impossible."

"But Gwen, you're my girlfriend." Peter said and took hold of her hand, grasping it tightly, "What kind of hero can't even save their girlfriend?"

She shook her head, "How many times do I have to say it? Peter, it's not your fault." Without waiting for his response, she leaned over and kissed him, full on the mouth. It didn't take long for Peter to begin kissing her back, just as passionate. But as he began to pull her closer against his chest, he involuntarily let out a small wince. Gwen noticed, and reluctantly pulled away, but not before whispering in his ear, "You'll always be my hero, Peter Parker."

"Oh my gosh, Peter!" Gwen exclaimed, and covered her mouth in shock, "What did this to you?"

Peter had just shown her the bruise on the side of his arm; Gwen hadn't noticed it earlier. He sighed, "I don't know, " He made eye contact with her "Just a green suit, and this evil, creepy laugh."

Gwen began cleaning his wound, trying her best not to hurt him more. "Gwen?" She looked up. "Are you still working at Oscorp?"

She looked away, "Well, I don't know yet. I guess it depends on how much the cancer...."

He nodded his head, not needing, or even wanting, her to continue, "Can you do something for me?"

"What is it?" She said, beginning to run her hands through his hair.

Peter shook his head, "I don't know, it's just, something about Oscorp just... doesn't seem quite right. Be careful, please?"

Confused, she asked, "Peter, of course I will, but, what's bothering you?"

"I don't know," Peter looked down, "I'm going to try finding out soon, but until then, please?

"Yeah, and don't worry, I'll call you if anything happens."

"You'd better," Peter said, pretending to be stern.

For the first time in days, Gwen Stacy could say she actually felt happy.
