||Jonny's POV||

I knew my friends would want to know I'd woken up. I wondered if any of them had come to visit me while I was in the hospital. Surely they knew I was even there in the first place.

When I thought about Leo, my mind filled with rage. I remembered what he'd said and tried to do to Skylinn on New Year's Eve. Question is, did he remember that? He was probably drunk at the time. I wondered if he'd stopped by to apologize to Sky after the whole incident. Probably not. Leo wasn't the apologetic type.

I knew that if I saw him in person, I would punch him right in the face. Probably not the best thing to do when you reunite with your supposed best friend after a coma.

So instead, I decided to call him.

"Hello?" he said into the phone.

"Leo. Hey, it's Jonny."

"Jonny?! You're alive?!"

I chuckled, despite my anger. "Yeah, I'm alive."

"Well, well, well. How's it going?"

"Um, good. I just woke up this morning at midnight." It was around 4pm now.

"That's awesome, man! It's really good to hear from you."

When he said that, it was hard to be mad at him. I knew he didn't even remember what he'd done to Skylinn. Maybe I should just forget about it too.

"Do you want to hang out? Catch up?" Leo asked.

"Um." I pretended to check my calendar. "I kinda just wanna stay in the house."

"Seriously? You've been asleep for what, three months? And now you just want to sit around all day?"

The anger from before returned. "Yes, if you don't mind. And if you want to keep that precious face of yours in good condition, I suggest you stop trying to make out with my friends."

Then I hung up.

I put the phone down and ran a hand through my hair, sighing. It was getting long.

I decided to see what Skylinn was up to. Maybe I'd lied about wanting to spend all day at home; I just didn't want to hang out with Leo.

I think I need a hair cut, I texted her.

That concerns me because...? she replied.

I was just gonna ask if you wanted to come with me to get my hair done. You could get yours done too, if you want.

Yeah okay. I'll be right out.

I grabbed my wallet and tied the laces on my black high top Converse before heading out the door.

It was sunny out, the perfect start to April. Sometimes I hated the springtime, though, because I had terrible allergies around this time.

Skylinn was waiting for me on her front porch. "Ready?" she called out.

"Yep. We taking my car, or yours?"

"Doesn't matter."

I opened the passenger door of my own vehicle, motioning for her to climb in. She got up and came around to the side, sliding into the car. I got in on the other side and worked my way through the neighborhood.

"What do you want to do with your hair?" Skylinn asked.

"Just get a trim, I guess. It grew a lot in the hospital."

"Yeah, I guess it did." She studied my dark brown hair and frowned.

"What?"

"I was just thinking. You could get it, like, shorter in the back and fuller on top."

I inspected my hair in the rearview mirror. "Yeah, maybe. Did you want to get anything?"

"Well I hadn't really thought about anything, but it might be nice to get a new look for my birthday."

"Right, that's coming up. The twelfth?"

"Yes," she said, seeming proud that I'd remembered.

I had a pretty good memory, so I knew she was just glad I still held on to that little piece of info all throughout the coma. I wanted to do something for her birthday, but I didn't really know what. Nineteen wasn't a huge one, except that it was your last year as a teenager.

Suddenly, I knew exactly what I would do. It would take a lot of work, and I'd have to talk to Jake, but it would be worth it. Skylinn would be thrilled.
