He was careful about how he talked and acted in front of others.

He was fine with hiding his true self because he thought it was easier.

He knew that he would get bullied and harassed but at least it wouldn't be worse than what he was feeling now.
He doesn't want people to judge him for being a girl.
He didn't understand why people were so against it.
