complicated love

As I woke up the next day, it was because I could hear my mother yelling at my father from downstairs. They're fighting right when I wake up from when I go to bed.

I wasn't really listening to what they were talking about, because it could concern me in the least. What I did hear though, from when I was walking in the hallway to go to the washroom was my father yelling at my mother for doing something wrong.

Maybe something wrong with how she cleaned a certain mug, or maybe she didn't cook breakfast they way he liked it. Whatever the reason may be, he was mad about something she didn't do right.

Once I was done getting changed and ready for school, I walked into the kitchen where my two screaming parents still were, to get my lunch out of the fridge.

My father was sitting at the table, a newspaper laid in front of him. My mother was beside the stove. She had an apron on and a spatula in one hand. They were going back and fourth, screaming at each other over something which was probably stupid.

It's been a long time since I've seen my mother cook breakfast now that I think about it. She's never up this early because she's usually sobering up from the previous night of drinking her sorrows away in the bathroom with a cigarette .

"Hoseok" my mother starts off with saying.

I close my eyes tightly and close the fridge door. "Please don't bring me into this stupid fight" I thought to myself while sighing deeply.

"Please tell your father you're happy with staying in the school you're in right now." My mother asks and I looked over at her confused. So it wasn't just some stupid fight over bacon and eggs?

"What do you mean?" I ask, now turning my body to her. I wanted to know everything she meant before actually answering her question.

"Just answer the question" my father spits from the other side of the room in anger.

My mother gave him a piercing cold glare before turning her attention back to me and explaining "your father says the school you're in right now is too expensive and it's a waist of time!"

I didn't know how to answer, of course I didn't like going to that school because of the bullies...but...Taehyung was in that school. If I told them I didn't like going, my father would no doubt take me out of it, two seconds flat. But if I said I liked it, I would be able to stay and be with Taehyung. Yet again Taehyung has a girlfriend, so he wouldn't miss me much anyway.

My mother could tell I was hesitating to answer the question and started to get impatient herself. "Tell us your answer already, Hoseok!"

I sighed, putting the lunch I had in hand, into my backpack, zipping up the zipper and putting my backpack onto my  back. "I like it there, okay?" I answer, turning my head to  my father, just to make sure he was the one who heard and oh, he heard alright.

He looked like he was about to burst into anger, probably for not taking his side. I then answer "I'm going to school" quickly about to leave the room until my father grabbed my wrist tightly to stop me.

I flinched at the pain, lightly hitting his wrist to let me go, but he wouldn't. If anything the pressure he was putting onto my wrist was getting harder and tighter.

My father quickly stood up and brought me to another room, probably to deal with me there, and like expected, he did.

*Taehyung's POV*

It's not normal for Hoseok to not be at school this late. Yet again there is a good twenty, maybe even thirty minutes before class starts, but Hoseok is usually the first one here.
