Surprise (Part 2) [Judy's POV]

Nick's face when he dances cracks me up 😂

And so does that armadillo in the background. I have a thing for armadillos; they're awesome!

I wasn't really sure on what Nick meant by "something nice" so I put on a black vest top with a light navy blue t-shirt over it and some blue jeans. I was also confused as to what this "surprise" was, as my birthday had already passed a few months ago, and Nick had made me the perfect carrot cake. Who knew he was such a good cook?

I grabbed my phone and keys and slipped them into my back pocket before opening my apartment door and heading down to the lobby. I greeted the receptionist before walking outside and looking around for Nick. I scoffed.

"Typical I'm ready before he even gets here," I chuckled, folding my arms across my chest.

I must've waited for at least ten minutes before Nick actually showed up. Fashionably late as usual.

"What took you so long?" I asked, hopping into the passenger seat.

"What took you so fast?" He answered my question with a question of his own. "If I didn't know any better, Carrots, I'd say you're excited."

Oh, there he goes. Pinning this on me. Sly fox... I glared at him before changing the subject.

"So, where are we going?" I asked, perking up all of a sudden.

Nick simply tapped the side of his nose twice and smirked at me, causing me to huff in annoyance and turn away. Despite the fact Nick was a good cop and a great pal, he could be so...annoying sometimes. And I was starting to feel like today was going to be one of those days. I rested my elbow on the windowsill and rested my head on my hand, already feeling my eyelids become heavy.

"Did you put something in my doughnut?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"What?! No! Sheesh, Carrots, have a little faith in your best pal!" Nick exclaimed, somewhat defensively. I just shrugged it off and yawned tiredly.

"Go to sleep, Carrots," he said, a hint of concern in his voice. "It's gonna take us a while to get to where we're going anyway."

I didn't even get to hear the end of what Nick was saying because I had already fallen asleep.

"Carrots? Carrots~?" Nick drawled, shaking my shoulder lightly.

I stirred in my sleep but didn't wake up. I was in the middle of a good dream, and it involved my parents meeting Nick and actually liking him. I did not want to ruin that dream. I rolled over onto my side and kept my eyes closed.

Nick chuckled lightly, causing me to open one eye. But I had my back to him so he couldn't see.

"Am I gonna have to carry you, Carrots?" He asked deviously and I suddenly sprung up.

"I'm up!" I exclaimed, my ears perking up alongside me. "I'm up," I repeated, looking over at Nick.

"Great, then put this on," Nick instructed, tossing a blindfold in my direction.

I scrambled to catch it as it came at me quick quickly but when I has it in my grasp, I looked down at it and raised an eyebrow at Nick.

"What's this for?" I asked, holding up the blindfold.

"Wouldn't wanna ruin the surprise now, would we?" Nick smirked, getting out of the car and shutting the door.

He came around to my side and opened the door.
