Someone tell me I'm not the only one who wants Nick's tie...?

No...

Ok...

My boredom was going to be the death of me. Like literally. I would die from boredom any minute now. It was my day off, Nick wasn't answering his phone, and there was nothing on TV. I lay sprawled across my sofa, wishing Nick would call me back. I even ended up draining down the power on my phone as a result of checking it, calling him and texting him. Honestly, I suspected something was up the moment he didn't answer my first text, which was a simple "Hi."

Nick always answers his texts, even if he's busy; and the fact that he didn't got me a little worried. But I couldn't go out looking for him because I didn't know where he was. So, I just groaned to myself as I rolled over on my couch, stretching my arms and legs out as I did so.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, causing me to jolt upright as my ears perked up. I had to remind myself not to get too excited as I rushed over to the door, remembering it could just be the mailman or one of my neighbours.

I opened the door to see Nick standing there, a genuine smile on his face.

"Nick?" I asked in disbelief.

The fox just waved at me, holding something behind his back with his other paw. I raised my eyebrow in suspicion as I folded my arms across my chest.

"What are you doing here? Why didn't you answer your phone? What's behind you back?" I asked all at one, never pausing for a breath.

"Whoa, whoa, Carrots. One question at a time," Nick hushed me, holding his paw up in defense.

"One: is a friend not allowed to visit another friend? Two: it was turned off. And three: these," he answered, pulling his arm out from behind his back, revealing a lush bouquet of lilacs. My favourite flowers.

"For you, my lady," he said in a gentlemanly tone, holding the flowers out to me.

I hesitated at first but took the flowers. It was sweet, but I was confused. Why would Nick suddenly show up at my apartment with my favourite kind of flowers? And why would he call me 'my lady'? All of this was a little suspicious, but I went along with it.

"Thank you?" I replied, it coming out as more of a question rather than a genuine thanks.

I stepped aside, allowing Nick to come in before closing the door behind him. I hopped into my bedroom and over to the empty vase sitting on my bedside table next to my lamp and placed the bouquet into it. They really were beautiful and looked like they costed a lot. That's when I grew even more suspicious...

"Did you steal these?" I asked Nick as I made my way back to my living room.

Nick was standing against the wall with his paws in his pockets, wearing his usual attire with a smile on his face.

"No. Carrots, I have a job now. Why would I steal flowers when I can buy them?" He asked me and, at this point, I was seriously confused.

"Nevermind," I said. "Why'd you get me the flowers?" I asked curiously, fiddling with the hem of my pink plaid shirt.

I wasn't trying to be rude, but I was super suspicious. And my questions were coming out as a bit rude, so I smiled at Nick to cover it up.

"Well, I was just casually walking down the street and I saw them and they reminded me of you," he answered, smiling sweetly.

All of this was oddly out of character for Nick and, in the end, I gave up with trying to be nice.

"Alright Nick, what do you want?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest again.

"Not falling for it?" He asked, squinting a little in question.

"Nope," I smirked, shaking my head.

"Alright," he sighed in defeat and I rolled my eyes. "I came over to ask you out on a date," he admitted simply, a look of embarrassment on his face.

I blinked in shock.

"What, you mean like a date date?" I asked, lowering my head slightly at Nick.

"Yeah..." He answered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Uh..."

I admit, I do have a crush on Nick, but this completely caught me off guard. Interspecies relationships were against the law, and if anyone knew we were going out, let alone having feelings for eachother, it would most possibly be the end of our careers. But, I wasn't going to let a perfectly good date with the guy of my dreams go to waste.

"Sure!" I replied, beaming as I jumped up on my toes with my paws behind my back.

"Really?!" Nick asked in shock, his eyes widening as if he thought I would say no.

"Of course! Consider this the start of our relationship," I replied, smiling sweetly.

Nick liked the sound of that, his face lighting up as a smirk stretched across his features. I liked the sound of it too, the odd feeling of Nick being my boyfriend now making me feel weird inside. But a good weird.

"Well, let's go then, girlfriend," Nick teased, holding his arm out.

I smiled and linked my arm in his.

"Ok then, boyfriend."
