Ok. This is it. I'm finally going to do it. Just gonna go up there and talk to him. I thought to myself after trying to restrict myself from giving the ground another beating.
Just gonna go up.
Look him in the eye.
And....I can't do it.
It's annoying how you can think about doing something, convince yourself you're going to do it, and then not end up doing it. I hate that. It ticks me off. I should just be a man (well, woman) and go over to his tent.
I got up even before I knew what i was doing and started marching up to the door, where I stood for a while and looked around. Knox and Semba were discussing somehing (probably not of importance, knowing those two) and Sunny was guarding the water supply (at least that's what it looked like).
FIVE THINGS TO DO WHEN STANDING IN FRONT OF A DOOR AND YOU NEED TO GO IN:
1. Go in.
2. Honestly, just go in.
3. Why are you even making a list?
4. Just open the blooming door and go inside
5.GO INSIDE THE FLIPJACKIN' TENT!
I went over my list, well, no time like the present right?
Wrong.
I kind of just burst in instead of knocking and saw Taris sleeping on a makeshift bed.
Without a top on.
I stared, no not at his perfect complextion or perfectly formed abs....Ok, maybe just a little, but what I really stared at were the scars that went around his body, an odd set of burn marks that didn't make any sense since he's a Luminist.
"Are you done staring?" I heard and I was jolted back to reality.
"Oh! You're awake! Ahem, well, um, I better let you get dressed, then, I'll just-" I rambled on then met his striking eyes for .5 seconds and looked away because as soon as I saw them, I thought about how dull they'd look if he were-.
Shut up Melody's mind voices. Not helping.
"Why'd you come?" he asked groggily, "Why would you want to see me after-"
I stopped him( not time like the presnt, can't fail a second time right?), "To say I'm sorry." I said as clearly as I could, and suddenly he jolted awake and stared at me with a mix of confusion and-anger?- on his face.
"You're sorry? About what? What could you possibly be sorry for?" he demanded in a voice that made me want to crawl in a hole and hide.
"C'mon hothead, don't make this harder for me. In that illusion thing, I-I" I couldn't bring myself to say watched you die while I did crappy oragami. Not very supportive.
"You burned. I watched you burn and disappear into nothing." Taris said in an angry, faraway tone, and I realised the anger wasn't directed at me, "I didn't know what to do, it was like someone was telling me not to help you, and I just went along with it. I couldn't figure out what to say after escaping the vision and when I saw that you were safe, so I tried avoiding you for the past days," he scoffed at himself, 'Not that that was supposed to be very effective, but I'm sor-"
'Wait, what?" I interrupted, as much as I loved that I wasn't the one rambling and apologizing, he looked like he was going to choke on guilt, like I felt for the past few days, "i didn't burn, you drowned and I couldn't, well, didn't save you. I came here to apoologize to you." I said the last part quietly and we locked eyes again.
"Is it possible that-"
'We saw diffrent visions-"
"And both were influenced by the same thing-"
"so that means i'm not a terrible person, just really really gullible!" I laughed as I felt a huge boulder of weight roll off my chest and I shot forwards to hug him.
'I'm still sorry though." he whispered, "Real or not."
"I am too." I sighed and then remembered.
He's still topless.
I fell backwards as my face reddened like a tomatoe. He looked confused until he rememberd his, ahem, state of clothing.
"Well, I'll just let you get back to your, stuff." I chocked out and ran out. And while I should have felt more embarrased than i ever have been, I felt a burst of happiness from my Pices mark and walked out into the blazing sun humming happily.
