It was two weeks after Sunny and Caprin had fallen out of the sky like a regular pair of stones.
Thankfully, Semba had some experience with falling people and managed to catch them before they had gone splat. After Sunny had restored the Libra light, the Terra and Vent colonies didn't stop fighting like we had hoped, but Libra was able to (finally) make an appearance and end the fighting once and for all. I don't know all the details, but I like to imagine Lady Libra standing over all the figure heads and scolding them and possibly giving them a time out.
I was sitting in the infirmary's waiting room after hearing that Sunny has finally woken up. Taris walked in a little later, and I punched his arm where his mark of Sagittarius glowed large and proud.
"Owww, geez Mel." he laughed, rubbing his arm and giving me a peck, "what was that for?"
"I just wanted to welcome the big man on campus." I said, gesturing towards his new mark. After the conclusion of the civil war, Taris was finally deemed worthy of his position and given full benefits of being a figurehead. Of course that also meant that he was always busy, but he seemed happy enough.
Semba and Knox came in, bickering good-naturedly as usual. I rolled my eyes, wondering what the heck they were waiting for and was about to announce my thoughts when the nurse, a happy looking Pisces who, in the weeks that followed the war's conclusion, had taught me a bit about the healing arts muttering how rare and exciting it was to find another healing Pisces. She motioned for us to come inside. I approached carefully, not wanting to wake Sunny up if she was sleeping, but Knox charged in and jumped her with a hug.
"Ow, hi Knox, ah, ow that's my rib cage. Ok, yes, I get it, love you too." Sunny said with alaugh when Knox finally let her go.
"Sleepy head" Knox said with a mumble and turned away.
"Aw, Knoxy are you crying?" Sunny asked sweetly, but with a hint of mischief.
"Shut up!" she said as Sunny and Semba laughed.
"You're all very loud, you know that?" said a voice I hadn't heard in a while. Goat bo-er-Caprin, who was in the cot next to Sunny rose out of his slumber (doesn't that make you think of a vampire?) and rubbed his head.
Sunny patted him, "Poor goaty is tired." she said knowingly and looked at Knox who instantly got where she was going with this.
"The poor kid." Knox said grinning.
"Yeah, he looks totally bleat."
"You goat to admire his determination."
"Unbeleatab-"
"OK OK we get it, goat puns are hilarious!" Caprin said in defeat and threw his hands up in the air as Knox and Sunny giggled uncontrollably. I watched as Sunny leaned on Caprin as she laughed, oh yeah, they're gonna be a thing too.
I'll make sure of it.
Taris put his arm on my shoulder as if I were a convenient table. I was about to tell him to shove off when he leaned over and whispered something in my ear.
I smiled and whispered it back.
