Why in the world was the earth still spinning?

Sunny was going on about something with silverware, but it seemed very distant until I heard her yell my name.

"Uh huh!" I said confidently to which Sunny shot me a death glare.

"I know you weren't listening Melody," she said and waved her spoon menacingly, "there are more than a hundred bug monsters out there. Once I blast these prison bars with this (she gestured to her spoon), I need you all to cover me until I can get to the Libra light and end this god forsaken war."

I nodded, still a little giddy, and got up.

And would have fell flat on my face if a certain someone hadn't caught me.

"Whoa there, can we wait a bit till we're all at a hundred percent?" he asked, letting me lean on him, but Sunny shook her head.

"I understand what happened now. Caprin led away the other figure heads so that we could get to the Libra light without any of us almost dying," she paused and looked at Taris pensively, "OK, without most of us dying."

"How can you be sure," Taris said rubbing the thin scar on his arm, "either that guy is a traitor or one hell of an actor."

"This," Sunny held up the spoon again," is how I'm sure. He planted this here so we could get out. Now," Sunny pointed the spoon at the prison bars, " stand back and get ready to grab your weapons."

                                                            ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I don't know what Sunny will tell you, but let me just say that I will never look at a spoon the same way again.

A blasting column of light shot out from the silverware and evaporated the bars as well as the four bugs standing charge in front of them. There was a brief moment of silence and then a chorus of cacophony.

KRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

The bugs screamed as Taris and Knox dove for their bows. The queen bug wasn't there, but now that we could see the monsters, it was much easier to hit them, or freeze them in my case.

Sunny dashed towards the black light, mauling down the bugs that got in her way. The center of the encampment suddenly erupted as Virgo, holding an unconscious Caprin, stepped out and waved her hand over Sunny who was flung against the wall.

"TRAITOR!" Virgo screamed and threw Caprin into the fire. Sunny sidestepped a bug attack, shook her head, and launched herself after him and into the fire. Virgo screamed and tried to catch her, only burning herself in the process, as Taris shot a silver arrow that left Virgo convulsing on the floor. Her hands beamed streams of light that broke open the ceiling where I could see the colonies doing war. Taurus and Scorpio were locked in battle with Pieces and Leo. The other kids battled ferociously as beams of light danced over the ceiling.

"JOIN THE FIGHT!" I heard Taris scream.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!" I screamed back.

"ALL WE CAN DO NOW IS WAIT AND HELP!" he said as Semba used the wind to life us out of the cave.

And into the war zone.
