The lion came back again with a furious roar.

Let me recap for a second here.

After Melody unrolled the paper, they all disappeared, leaving me with Semba and a massive Lion with dark brown eyes and terribly sharp teeth. Its skin was ripped in all different directions and I had a feeling that Semba recognized what it was supposed to be. He picked a great time to be in shock too. I’ve always wanted to fight a crazy zombie lion, all by myself.

I really don’t think I can be more sarcastic than that.

I hauled Semba to a corner of what appeared to be a circus ring. There was a stadium of people with no faces around us and a spotlight followed the lion and us around to wherever we went. I looked into his face and slapped it. The shock in his eyes began to fade as he realized where he was.

“Hi there Semba! Remember me? I’m Knox, now unless you want to get whipped up by an angry lion thing; I suggest you do something to help because I can’t find my bow. Got it?” I said harshly and watched as his gaze shifted from me to the lion.

“Dad.” He said weakly and I resisted the urge to slap him again.

“No. Not dad. Your dad popped his clogs right? Kicked the bucket.” I said, the words coming out too forceful and rude, but I saw his face begin to show recognition and he took a deep breath.

“Together then?”

“Together.”

And with that, we charged.
