They say the pen is mightier than the sword right?
Yet instead of poetry or words flowing our emotion,
You see the sword slashing and the words crashing
Down, burning in flames because our police are quick to attack.
But the pen is mightier than the sword right?
The pen is mightier than the sword but we are seeing our young black men
Ripped from their mothers arms and ripped from the world by a sword.
Well, when you look at it in the modern day sense.
The pen is the same, yet the game has changed.
Instead of it being up close and personal,
They take to gunfire.
That gunfire turns into the modern day sword.
But the pen is mightier than the sword right?
They say the pen is mightier than the sword,
But bullets blasting, heaven's crashing
Hell's rising
Mothers crying.
And that modern day sword is winning,
Cause those that know how to wield the pen is becoming scarce.
Yet the pen is mightier than the sword
Well, lets turn back time, flip this clock and rewind it
Because since Trayvon Martin, It seems that the sword is winning to me
But now my pen is bleeding,
Now my pen is bleeding with the pain
From the hearts of the mothers of those slain.
From the hearts of the mothers of Trayvon Martin,
Dontre Hamilton, Eric Garner, John Crawford, Mike Brown
Hands Up don't shoot!
But that wouldn't stop those officers from making sure these kids lives got the boot
Oh wait, there's also
Ezell Ford, Dante Parker, Tanisha Anderson, Akai Gurley, Tamir Rice, Rumain Brisbon, Jerame Reid, Tony Robinson, Phillip White, Eric Harris, Walter Scott, Freddie Gray and Sandra Bland
Who's mothers all heard the news and failed to stand
To know their heart and soul bled out to the police's hand
Yet, still they say.
The pen is mightier than the sword
Well My pen may not be mightier than the sword but I wont let that sword
Stop my pen from bleeding.
My pen may not be mightier than the sword but it still holds power
And with this pen I am unstoppable.
With this pen I am unforgettable
With this pen, I am everything I'm destined to be.
Because with this pen, I am true to the name Enigma's Destiny
Never knowing what could come of it, but my pen gives me the power
And with this power I am invincible.
But this time, I'm giving you the power.
The pen is in your hands. Now what?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #Blacklivesmatter is a movement that has been moving for years now, although just getting the recognition of the world. I've been apart of the movement for a while. Since Trayvon Martin lost his life. To this day, I am still a kid to wear hoodies and buy an Arizona and Skittles. The world may have forgotten, but I haven't.
