Society likes to paint this picture that only women can have their hearts broken. That men are stone cold or have those hearts made of gold. Either they are the villain or the knight in shining armor. But what about those men that know that they are not the first choice ever? What about those men that are the best of friends with a girl and try to show that girl that even though we aren't the first choice because of our exterior, maybe we could be the best choice, but the person they have been crushing on for forever realizes at the last second that they truly do have feelings and you can feel them slip right through your hands and become someone you used to know because they allow an once forbidden love to take control. Then he is fearful of said friendship with "his girl" that he barely knows and has her cut all ties with you. What about us? We aren't perfect, we aren't knights in shining armor but we care. In fact, we are better because we prove that we fight for you by our battle scars. By our dents in our armor and the luster that it fails to carry. I wouldn't want to be a knight in shining armor anyway, they lose interest too fast because everything is handed to them. I would rather prove myself and get those battle scars
