there was nothing left to break of me
I watched
unable to move
as everything around me broke into pieces
for I am nothing but a broken piece myself — a shard of glass
too quickly dropped — too thoughtlessly stepped on
over and over again
I watched;
the eye of the hurricane
with every blink I submerged deeper
I watched
my surroundings spin around me;
a cross between a daydream and a nightmare
a rock trapped in an endless cycle
I watched and watched until
everything blurred
and the demons broke my door down
I watched and watched until
it sucked me into its circular hurricane;
a beautiful nightmare, a horrendous dream.
They watched and watched until
an insignificant, broken shard of glass
swept away into the void
