Loving you came in different shades.
Red: when the weight of the world sunk into your backbones and the air around you became too heavy to breathe.
Orange: when you wake up before sunrise and the whole world's gone quiet and you think to yourself that maybe, just maybe, you'll be okay for a while.
Yellow: when the light reflected back on your eyes and the skies seemed all too bright and we radiated warmth.
Green: when the wind seeps under your skin and you feel it course through your lungs and for once, you feel whole again.
Blue: when the all the colors seem to dissipate into a dull grey and you can't remember how his hands looked like or the color of his eyes or why the sky is ever blue.
Indigo: when you yell at the night for stretching too far and ache for the relief of morning light.
Violet: when coming back to you is like coming home, and you're full of homesickness that only his lingering scent can cure.
Loving you came in different intensities. Like opening your eyes and seeing the world for the first time.
