Lucy's POV

Saturday - The Day of the Talent Competition

Me and Mei spent the rest of Thursday and most of Friday practising, making sure everything was perfect. We had decided to stay over night, so we could use the actual stage without anyone watching. We had spent Friday on the full thing. Singing, movement all with the dress on.

"What time is it?" I yawned.

"Like...4am. We've got 6 hours until the thing starts."

"I am so tired."

"Same. My magic feels like it's just leaking out of me...it hurts." She sighed and reacher for her pocket. "Do me a favour and shove one of these down my throat."

She rolled a small pouch over the table toward me. I picked it up and opened it. Inside were some small stone-like orbs. They were purely black, like onyx. I took one out and popped it in her mouth. She crushed down on it and her body started to glow before slowly dimming back to normal.

"What are these?" I questioned, passing them back.

"Dimension Lacrema. I have to eat some whenever I'm really low on magic. Because Dragon Slayers get a magic boost from their elements Lacrema, I have to take Dimension Lacrema." She explained. "But because Dimension Magic is so rare, it takes a while for the ethernanos in the air to charge me back up again."

"Interesting. That's sounds nothing like Natsu."

"That the guy you're singing for?"

"Uh-hu. He's crazy. When he's tired he just keeps on raging on. When he's really into something he will refuse any rest."

"Sounds like a crazy alright..." Her voice trailed off.

A small silence cut the air.

"What's up?"

"Nothing. Just trying to remember things...not really working though. But you describing your friend...kinda reminds me of mine." She laughed. "From what I remember they were pretty crazy too...lets get back to practice. Let's run through one more time with your magnificent dress."

We both laughed.

"Thanks. Well I'm going into the stage."

"You get pumped up again. I'll need to go use the girls room."

She jogged of to the bathroom out of sight. I sat and waited on the stage for her to come back, when...

The doors of the Guild Hall creaked open. The light of the moon and street lights trickled inside. In the door frame stood a shadow. They were carrying something in their arms. It didn't take me long to realise...it was Natsu and Happy.

My heart sped up, and I felt my face go hot. I just stared. I hadn't seen them since Tuesday. They had been out constantly.

Natsu walked in, a sleeping Happy in his arms. He seemed exhausted, as he dragged his feet toward me.

"Hey Lucy. Long time no see." He smiled widely.

"Natsu...Hey." I smiled back, on the verge of tears. "Welcome home."

"Why you crying?" He panicked. "Did someone hurt you?!?"

"No. Nothing like that at all!" I replied quickly, calming him down. "I'm just happy I could see you again."

Did I just say that. Damn it!

"Good to see you too."

He was now stood right in front of me, looking right at me.
