Tibby's POV
The Doctor stares at where the TARDIS was with an expression of... amusement?
"Umm... are you okay?" I ask her with a hint of fear, that face is never a good one.
Then she starts laughing - it actually sounds more like cackling - and starts to double over, it looks like she's trying to form words but can't due to her laughter.
After approximately 7 minutes and 43 seconds the Doctor manages to stop laughing and takes in a huge gulp of air. She turns to me and wipes her eyes (they had started to tear up due to her excessive laughter) then says, "That's hilarious."
"Okay, yes, but what is hilarious?" I try to get her to explain what happened.
"That."
"Ah yes, and 'that' is so very specific."
"Yes it is, don't you think?"
"That was sarcasm."
"We're using so many pronouns today."
"You started it!"
"Well I was only laughing because the TARDIS decided it would be cool to make the way we find out where to travel to look like a game."
"And why is that funny?"
"Because, I'm only telling you this based upon an inference, Maggie must have thought that it is a game and decided to play around with it a bit and gotten herself lost."
I stare at the ground. Who would do something like that? I sigh, typical Maggie.
I look up at the Doctor who is fiddling around with her sonic screwdriver.
"What are you doing?" I ask her in confusion, I should really understand what she's doing by now but nope, she continues to constantly surprise me.
"Well, you see, I'm trying to see if I can get a signal from the TARDIS, she was here and even time machines leave a trace that you can track." She pauses for another moment, deciding on her words is my guess. "The sonic screwdriver reads the signal left behind by the TARDIS and then proceeds to track her wherever she went in the universe."
"Wouldn't that be hard, being a time machine and all?"
The Doctor pauses, "Perfect."
"What now?"
"You keep questioning everything."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Well... no, it's actually why I chose you to be my companion,-"
"Really? I thought you just picked up the people you see first." I interrupt
"-because you have the want to know what is going on and understand the things that you don't know. It's actually very cool."
"Sure."
The Doctor laughs again, this time it's a lighthearted laugh that puts a small smile on my face.
"Welp! The TARDIS didn't bring us here for no reason, let's explore!" The Doctor grabs my elbow and pulls me along with her on her trek across Tokyo.
"Do you know what you're doing?" I ask the Doctor.
"Nope! But that's half the fun!"
"Why are you so cheery today?"
"Why are you so gloomy today?"
We both stop.
"Something's wrong." I say instantly.
"Yup." The cheerful Doctor is gone, replaced by this serious being staring at me.
"What is it?" I ask, hoping that she might have a clue as to what is wrong in the picture.
"Look around," she points at everyone walking along, some with children, some with books, some on their phones... everything is silent and normal.
"They all look normal." I reply, I get the feeling something's off but I can't point it out.
"That's it. They're almost too normal; no place should have people that walk around expressionless and don't even talk with each other." She tells me, her expression beginning to look pained.
She cares about you, all of the humans... it's only because she's lost so much, imagine what would happen if you and your precious Maggie were to leave her...
There's a voice in the back of my head that seems to be taunting me, I look over to the Doctor to find her staring straight ahead, her eyes seeing something that's not here, her mind whispering to a being that only exists in our heads...
She snaps out of it and grabs my arm again, this time tighter.
"Ow!" I yelp.
She just continues to walk ahead, her sight never straying from directly in front of her. She looks like the rest of the people, the people that are too normal. She makes her way into a small cafe, pulling me with her, and slips both of us into a two person table next to the main window looking out into the street.
The Doctor leans towards me, "This is bad."
I groan internally, "It's always those three words."
~~~
I told myself to update Friday night, then I finished the Tokyo Ghoul manga.
Next, I told myself to update on Sunday at the least, then I stayed up until 1 finishing Blue Exorcist.
Now, here I am on Monday at 12:32 PM, out of school early because it is raining really hard and roads are starting to get shut down because of flooding so they said "hey, if all the roads are closed once school gets out then we're stuck with alla these children" and let us loose.
I am so sorry for not updating sooner and I have a sorta-plan on what to do for the next chapter.
Comment, Vote, Follow us... maybe? Idk, do whatever your heart desires.
If you feel like eating a huge bowl of ice cream, do it.
If you feel like robbing a bank, I wouldn't advise it and you'd most likely get caught and arrested, but go ahead - the only thing between you and that large stash of money is yourself and the law enforcement.
Wait.
Here: do anything that your heart desires as long as it is legal.
There. I think.
I told my friends that when I got home I would most likely watch anime and here I am writing fanfiction. Wooooo!
Welp, thank you for the support and everything, you guys are great!
