Maggie

Maggie's POV

"You are under arrest."

Perfect.

"You have been found guilty of being an impostor - of a being that we trusted no less! I had my suspicions from the moment you arrived so I made a decision to follow you and see what you know. And as I suspected you are not the Doctor!" 

Commander Addison takes a small breath after that, throughout that entire exposition she took not a single breath. I couldn't tell whether to applaud her or run away from her.

She grabbed my wrists and I yelped.

It wasn't that kind of yelp you make in terror, it was in surprise. I was surprised that she grabbed me. I wasn't scared. At all. Nope. Not me.

"Hey, why don't we talk about this a bit and get everything cleared up." I try to feign calmness but my fea-surprise was making my acting skills act up. 

"We have talked enough." Addison states.

"Well yes we have talked, but that wasn't about this, that was about what we need to do to help you guys." Words spill out of my mouth and I can barely comprehend what I'm saying.

Addison narrows her eyes. "You want to talk about how to best get out of this situation don't you."

It's not really a question but I look up at her and force a small side smile on my face to look friendly.

"That would be nice, yes." I respond.

Addison smirks at me and I feel all of my hope for getting to talk about this go down the drain.

"You and I can talk once you're locked up, Maggie."

If it's possible, Addison's smirk deepens. I'm honestly confused because who can look that adorable while also looking like you want to instantly tear me to shreds. It's quite contradicting but Addison manages to pull that look off perfectly.

"I know that you figured out that I can read your mind, so I took the liberty of delving further into your mind and looking at your memories. Everything you want to talk about - how you came to be in this situation-" can that smirk get any deeper? dear time lords she's going to give herself wrinkles at this rate "-I know your side of the story and my own as well as everyone else's. You could say I'm all-knowing, but really it's only natural."

I tilt my head to the right just a bit - oh, yeah, at that angle she really does look like the leader of some clique that thinks they own a place just because they can.**

Addison's eyebrows furrow just the slightest at my latest thought but then she shakes her head and starts leading me to where I can only guess is where they keep prisoners.

"Wait! If you're all-knowing then you must understand that I shouldn't be punished for this! If you were in my situation would you have done anything different? I still have to keep my promise to you!"

I yell out those words to Addison, hoping one of them will save me from the fate presented before me, it's only on the sound of the last words that Addison stops and looks at me.

"You did not make that promise. The Doctor made that promise. As far as I know, you are not the Doctor." 

She must be really angry.

"Just because 'the Doctor' made that promise doesn't make it irrelevant. I told you that I would help you, whether you see it this way or not, I am still going to find a way to help you."

Addison stops and turns to face the other two people - most likely soldiers - that she brought with her. She sighs and lets go of me.

"Put on that stupid Doctor facade for everyone else if you're going to help. But after everything is done I'm going to arrest you myself again. During that, it's up to everyone else to decide your fate. If you do a good job for us they might want to set you free. If not, well I have plenty of things that have to be done."

I stare at her in a mixture of wonder, surprise, and shock.

"Really?"

"Yes! Now get to work before I change my mind."

I give her my most dazzling smile - she rolls her eyes - and I turn to start brainstorming ways to help the Daym.
