My skull was throbbing and I was prodded awake in the most distressing situation I've ever been in. I could feel where my hair had been ripped from my head. I was secured to a chair in the corner of a tiny living room, my hands were in place with a zip tie for each. Plastic dug into my wrists, causing little beads of blood at one point. The dress I decided to wear today proved to be a horrible plan, seeing as it was riding up and my ankles were both tied as well to each chair leg, giving my kidnapper perfect view. Fear crawled up my throat, but I couldn't make a sound. Inside my mouth was a piece of rag, and to top it off, I also had a lovely duct tape seal.Devon? I attempted to scream for him, Sara MIA as well, but it was almost like my radio system had it's wires cut. Was I about to get raped?
"There she is!" The familiar voice of David rang out before he strut into my view carrying a flint dagger. Panic seized me and I tried to get away from him, but his arms shot out, keeping me in place. "Our pretty little princess, who's going to save the world. " His laughter was maniacal, and this was the polar opposite of the boy I had met just a few days before.
"What? Nothing to say? " He dangled the knife in front of my face, and I stopped breathing when he slit his wrist. "Black blood. Hmm. That's not very wolfy is it? It's a good thing I'm good at pretending to be one. See, I'm so clever that all I had to do is some research. One, where to get some Vampire's blood, to poison you of course and two, if you're a virgin. If I was human, that might be hard to do. One, was easy peasy, all I had to do was decapitate a rogue vamp. Or maybe he was just taking a break from his nest. Hmm, we'll never know. Then when you and that other dog showed up at the bowling alley, it was clear you hadn't mated. My research was done. I even double checked to see any tattoos when you broke your ankle." As he was telling me this, his face got closer and my horror cleared my mind a bit.
Devon! I've been poisoned, it was David! I tried, but at least Sara had returned. She quickly started yelling demands at me and I struggled to keep up.
Vampire's blood will cause you unable to shift, communicate: either telepathically or verbally, or move. Now there are exceptions, and the first one is, if you get over the nausea you should be able to communicate with Devon, seeing as you mated with him.
Nausea? What Nausea? I felt my insides turn into outsides as the my entire body rejected the blood, but because of my immobility, I was frozen with the incredible compulsion to heave my internal organs. But I didn't. David grinned at me, and used the knife to tease my wrist. He pushed down and a string of blood swelled around the edge suckling gently on the black rock. Yet I didn't feel the pain, the terrifying situation numbed me from the pain.
Finally the revulsion passed, and I howled for my best friend.
Baby girl? Where are you? What happened? His voice, although panicked, relaxed me immensely and I tried to explain the situation as best I could, while focusing on the pattern David was now etching into my skin.
Hang in there Kaitlyn, I can track you now. And I was alone again. The deranged man dropped the knife suddenly.
"The least enjoyable part was having to roll in the corpse of that poor boy. You know, to keep a scent. If I wasn't a very twisted individual, I wouldn't have liked it at all. But it was okay, not the worst thing I've done. You know what Kitty Cat? I think we should go ahead and get this over with. I'll be right back with my favorite toy, my tomahawk. I have a thing for native american weapons. I was born as a Native." He sent me a wink, and I felt a queasy shiver run through me that had nothing to do with the poison. As soon as he left, my panic eased up enough for the tears to start and I stared at the wall adjacent to me as dread swallowed me. Just as everything started to go black again, the front door broke open and five wolfs suddenly burst through the door. A curse broke out from another room, and David came running out, and attempted to throw the hatchet at me, but failed when a black muzzle suddenly snapped his wrist off.
