Chapter Twenty-One

The next morning I woke with half of Devon's extremely hot body sprawled across mine. And I don't mean just attractive. Although that was a very nice perk. He was like a space heater, his naked torso blazing the left side of my body. To top it off, my left thigh was trapped between his own in a manner that would be very sexy, if it wasn't a hundred degrees in the hotel room. He was cooking my leg like a hot dog. But that wasn't what woke me up. Someone was impatiently tapping, trying to wake us up.

Moaning, I grumbled to the knocked out Devon, "Wake up. Someone's at the moving wall thing." Drowsy me couldn't place the word door for some reason. I gained a chuckle, and he groggily pushed himself off me. Quickly thanking the lord for that relief, I received a peck on the cheek before he stumbled to the door. I rolled over, and curled into the space Devon was just occupying. It was warm, just like the room, but I didn't mind. It was Devon warm, giving me butterflies, but there was something off. I couldn't quite place it, and it wasn't uncomfortable, so I didn't think too much of it. Sara squealed though.

What? But she remained mute.

I heard Devon crack open the door, but suddenly it was forced all the way open by a very talkative girl. The door swooshed open, and hit the wall stopper with an abrupt smack. Inwardly I groaned, and Danielle came skipping in before Devon could stop her.

"So I was thinking we could go see the college and then we..." She stopped when she took in my appearance. I was just wearing my underwear, as was Devon. "Oh...Um I'm sorry...I..." She looked struck and something clicked into place. It was suddenly very clear why she had been so rude to me before. Standing up, it took everything for me not to be vindictive and rub it in her face. Instead I covered my body, and gave her an apologetic smile.

"Hey, Dani! Sorry about that! It's just so hot in here. I didn't know any other way to cool down quickly... We were actually going to go swimming, but I really like your idea! Will you give us a tour of the campus?" I asked, shooting Devon an angst filled look.

Grab your clothes and get dressed babe. You might be looking at being a third wheel today. Sorry Dove. He shot me a confused look, but complied. Then distributed one of the outfits on the hangers to me and got some fresh underwear and socks from the drawer beneath the television, tossing me my own. I blushed and he winked before going into the bathroom. He didn't do it on purpose but he might have made this situation worse. Turning to a dazed Dani, I felt awkward. She was still crushing on Devon, and might still be in love with him. But the problem was that she just realized that he and I were serious, or at least sleeping together. They had only kissed twice, and I think that the realness that Devon is actually attracted to me, hit her full force.

"Um. Do you want to turn around sweetheart? Or...?" Dani blinked a couple of times, but that huge fake grin plastered onto her face. "Nothing I haven't seen before." I wasn't asking for her, I felt extremely uncomfortable changing in front of people besides Devon. But for her sake, I started peeling off articles of clothing. I didn't want her to think I was distressed around her. Quickly I shed my clothes and started putting on my apparel. She didn't bother to advert her eyes either, which was weirdly satisfying. There goes my post pubescent streak of one person seeing me naked. Devon was growling as well as laughing under his breath whilst in the bathroom, and Sara was strutting around my head flaunting her nakedness. Or at least that was what I was picturing.

I quickly pulled myself together and went to the vanity to fix my hair, which was kind of tousled. It was actually quite sexy.

"Oh, honey. What are you going to do about that hair?" Never mind.

I sighed and opened the bathroom, where Devon was pulling on his shoes. Dani followed me, probably hoping to catch a  glimpse of my fiance's naked body as well.
