"But, like, what would you say our max would be?" I asked the infuriating Devon. The last five minutes consisted of me trying to figure out our budget.
"Any price, I already told you. Just go from highest to lowest and I'm sure you'll find one that you're interested in. If not, we custom build, or buy a fixer upper. Its all up to you baby. Except it has to have at least five bedrooms."
"Five? Why five?" I was flabbergasted. That's a lot of bedrooms.
"I'll need an office. Not to mention we should have a pool as well."
"Oh, look at this one! It's got a nice basement, a lovely pool with a basketball and tennis court, and an amazing media room. For the low price of one million and four hundred thousand dollars." I snarled.
"If it's the one you want." He grinned at me, flopping down next to me on the bed, his head resting on my shoulder.
"No, it's not. The walls are covered in dark wood paneling and it gives the entire place a dreary, haunted look." I sighed.
"Remember that we can always add a pool and add kitchen space and all that. We just can't fix structural stuff, like a brick exterior. I'm sure there's ways but I'm not really up to that task." He shifted his head so that his lips could meet my neck and my body shook, but I ignored his tempting kiss, and focused on house hunting.
"Actually, instead of searching for a house in Spokane, why don't we search for a rental in Colfax, just to get out of our parents hair for awhile." I asked. "Just for a couple of months, as a transitioning home. We only have to buy a nice bed and maybe a tv. We don't need to furnish it with much. Otherwise that would make it all harder to move up north."
"Wow, you've really thought this through. I would love to have you in my bed all the time for a change. Okay, let's see." I searched but only two homes came up.
Devon took a break from making my toes curl. "That doesn't look habitable, baby."
I had to agree, one looked like it was falling down, and the other was a bit trashy. You could see from the photo where the paint was falling off, and neither offered any inside view.
"How about we look at Pullman. It's just a twenty minute drive from home, we already go to school there, and we can sleep in a bit more."
"Yeah, I think that would be best." He clicked on the options for me and a little over a dozen houses popped up. The very first one was a two bedroom. "The wall paper's hideous, but for a rental it's really decent but pricey."
"Lets look at all the rest but this one is a maybe." It was my turn to start my magic on his jawline.
"This one's two thousand a month, and a very pretty house but twice that of the last. If you keep doing that I swear on my great great great grandmother's grave that I will put this laptop away, and make you understand what being teased really is," His deep voice rumbled, and I flipped over on him, straddling his upper chest.
"Okay." He bit his lip and slipped his hands to my panties before groaning. "No, Kaitlyn. Let's find a quick place to stay that makes you happy, then I can make you happy. If you keep this up, you'll need to start wearing actual sleepwear to bed."
"Don't make make promises you can't keep then." He growled and then rolled himself onto me, the laptop beneath his hovering body, sideways on mine.
"What about this apartment? It's two bath, and two beds, for nine hundred." He snatched it from between us and put it above my head and started typing.
