The migraine that was slowly pulsing its way through my head throbbed as I scowled at the happy couples, walking down the path, their eyes full of nothing but affection for each other and the sight made me want to puke all over Noah's expensive sneakers in front of me.

I sounded like an old hag hating on teens and their young love, damn! Who have I become?

"April, I think you have just about butchered your salad." A voice speaks up, breaking the trance I had seem to be under.

Wondering why I'm extra grouchy this fine, Thursday afternoon? Not my usual, moody self but, 10x worse?

Well, you see— As you know, Ravenswood may be a large city but, as the university lies on the brim of the border of our hometown Roseville, it makes the community within the school smaller due to majority being from Roseville.

And now, the university's new power couple seemed to be taking Roseville's gossip world by storm.

Our small town of Roseville is a choice of words.

Most would portray it as a place to call home, your typical small town community thriving together off gossip and scandals and fake politeness.

Don't get me wrong, Roseville has its tendencies to greatness and I couldn't call another place home but, a lot of people in our town thrive off the scandals that are within the town.

But, unless you're within a daring encounter between one of Roseville's most elite families or are lucky enough to be in an elite family, you essentially get washed up within the shadows of nothing.

And how I ached to have stayed in the shadows.

Last night, I made the daring decision to finally tell my mother about Adam and I's break up.

A girl needs to be able to have a small cry to her mother about the boy who broke her heart at least once in her life, right?

Apparently not.

Instead, as I was about to call my mother after some study, she beats me to it, frantically asking me why on earth Adam and I broke up— almost as if it were to be a Hollywood scandal.

Gossip travels fast in this town, and even more so rumours.

So as I explained the reason why Adam decided to throw my heart on the ground and step on it until it was in a million pieces, her confusion grew.

As heard by my own mother, Adam's Family — The Lockwood's, Roseville's  richest and most successful family in the state, his father is chief of police but, regardless of their job title, they are all simply to be described as snobby rich pigs who have no sense of compassion.

Anyways, the  Lockwood's were getting asked about Adam's fresh new relationship with none other than Lacey Green, and what on earth happened to poor little April Pearson?

So, to keep their reputation in check, they needed their prodigy son to be the golden child he claims to be, so they ran my name through the mud.

"April had this high school fantasy romance with Adam, that she just could not let go of, she was incredibly possessive and controlling and we could not stand to see our boy hurt anymore."

I know right? Something you'd hear in Teen Drama shows but, apparently it's a reality.

So I had to tell my mom every single detail, I was hoping I could leave out the cheating part on Adam's behalf but, my mother having a bad opinion of him was the least he deserved.

I really am starting to think my entire life lately has just been one crazy and elaborate Teen drama movie that I don't remember auditioning for.
