Chapter 25
I paced around the room waiting for Josh to come over. I told him that I just wanted to study and he had agreed. He seemed on edge though because he kept mentioning the prank. But that's exactly what it was. It's been about five weeks into the school year now and I finally got all my makeup work done for being absent allot. My job at Target was becoming easier too. I did get a scolding for being off tue job so much. The best thing is that my prank was finally ready after watching The Parent Trap. I know it was due a long time ago buy Josh never reminded me! I watched the part where that one twin and her friends sabotaged the cabin so that every small move triggered a trap and caused them to get disgusting stuff poured onto them about 10 times and matched the strings to my living room. I altered the ingredients and stuff because I didn't have any feathers or a huge batch of melted chocolate but I dis have whip cream and alot of mayo and ketchup. And lots and lots of glitter!!!
I used clear string so he wouldn't see the entrapment right away. I had the door unlocked so I could just tell him to come in and I won't interfere with the strings. I adjusted the bucket of mayonnaise, ketchup, soda mixture and tightened the whip cream can holder to be able to spray out at the moment Josh opens the door. There was also a large water balloon and bucket of ice. I added another bottle of glitter from my art kit to the cup connected to the two main trigger strings and cleaned all hints of the plan. I heard the door bell followed by knuckles rasping against the wooden frame. I maneuvered around the strings to be able to peer out the window. It was Josh!
" Come in!" I yelled.
" You better not have done something to the doorknob." He yelled.
" Yeah cause I would make it electrocute you." I joked.
" Why don't you open it?" He asked. I leaned against the wall where the window was and gave a shrug
" Cause I'm... Eating." I face palmed.
Eating? I asked myself. Smart.
" Stop eating and come open the door."
" No. I'm going to the bathroom now. Just come in and wait in the living room." I called.
" Ugh fine!" He slowly turned the knob and opened the door. I leaned in with anticipation.
As I planned, the whip cream can exploded and the white fluff splattered all over his shirt and partly his pants. I burst out laughing as he glared at me with mock anger.
" Seriously. Whip cream? That is so lame" He said. I kept laughing as he swiped at the cream. He started walking forward to the living room and I had to control my laughter. He was close to triggering the first rope, which had the disgusting mayo, ketchup, and soda mixture. When he tripped the string, it came pouring out onto his head. The gunk slithered on and into his shirt as it stuck his raven hair to his forehead. I bit my lip to prevent another outburst as he walked forward blindly.
" Cari!" He yelled as the balloon burst on his head.
" Yes?" I called out. I gave a short laugh.
" I hate you!" He yelled.
" I know." He tripped another string and down came the shredded ice. He gave up.
" I'm not moving from this spot." He grumbled.
" Okay then. Don't move. Fine by me." I grabbed the mop and began cleaning up. I cut the strings and walked around him and under the strings and cleaned up a bit. Josh was as stiff as a rock.
" Dude just get it over with. You'll have to move eventually." I pushed. He gave a sigh and brought up his hand to clear gunk from his eyes.
" Is it liquid?" He asked.
