Chapter 7

Chapter 7  

Cari's POV  

I put my heavy jacket into my suitcase and lugged it out to my dad who was putting all our luggage into the side hatchet of our RV. I hopped in and took my iPod out. I used the list I made to make sure we had all the food and supplies we needed. We always drove to New York but this year we were going for Christmas because my aunt was coming up from Puerto Rico for the first time in about 6 years.  

I went back inside and set out my clothes for the next day. A pair of long leggings, a white tee and a black jacket to stay comfy. I took a shower and went to bed. I drifted off to sleep smiling.  

Isn't it funny how your subconscious always seems to tell you what you need to know about yourself but in the strangest ways. my dream was a flurry of information. It was the trip, family, school, and finally and And most clearly Joshua. I saw him when he finally admitted to liking me and when he whispered to me in class. Last I was his goofy face and then I heard what I took to be his thoughts.  

' Her dimples are so cute!' was it just me or did he sound like a girl. The strangest thing happened. I felt groggy and saw him lean in and lick my face as his face turned into a dog.  

I finally realized it was my dog waking me up. She hopped off my bed and walked to the kitchen. I followed and ate some cereal. She then went to the bathroom were she sat as I freshened up. After I said good morning to everyone Jada got impatient, grabbed my sleeve and dragged me to my room to get dressed. I was the last to get ready since she took so long guiding everyone. I brushed my hair and braided it. I but on my black studs and grabbed my entertainment/ clothes for tomorrow bag. We all hopped in the RV. I got comfortable and put my iPod earbuds in my ears.  

My dad started driving towards my uncles house. Iris jumped in.  

" Surprise! We're coming with you guys!" she said super excited 

" Yay!" I was jumping with her now. I said hi to my uncle and aunt and Iris's brothers. We all sat and I gave Iris and earbud. We started swaying to Usher's ' DJ Got us Fallin in Love'.  

After about four hours we made it from central Florida to the Georgia border. I made my dad stop the RV and I took a picture in front of the ' Welcome to Georgia' sign. I got back inside and my uncle took over the driving. And so the pattern continued.  

Every state I made my dad or uncle stop and I took a picture in front of the welcome sign while the dads switched spots. We were flying through this trip. We never had to stop to stretch except once, we had all the food we needed, and we didn't need to stop for the bathroom.  

At 4 Joshua called me. CALLED! I picked it up and walked over to the back room.  

" Hello?" I asked. 

" Hey sweetie. Missed you at school today."  

" Well I didn't miss being there." I said humorously. He paused for a moment then laughed with me. After we calmed down I asked " Did we do anything important in school?"  

" Well we had a quiz in math but that was easy. But how's the ride been?"  

" Great. Iris came too."  

" Awesome. You must be having fun."  

" Definitely and so are the guys."  

" That's great. I'm sorry I have to go help my mom with dinner. I'll talk to you tomorrow right?"  

" Yeah sure." I hung up and got a soda.  

" Who was that?" Iris asked. 

" Josh." I whispered
