We stood in the middle of the airport. We had been hugging for a solid two minutes, but I didn't care. I honestly didn't want to let go. I don't know what part of me through this would be easy, because it was the complete opposite.

His flight number was called. I held on tighter and hoped that maybe he hadn't heard it. No such luck.

"Babe I gotta go. That's my flight."

"I know, I was just hoping you hadn't heard it."

He pulled away and looked at me. It was all I could do to keep from crying.

"It's only a week and then we'll be reunited again. You'll be fine."

"I know, I'm acting silly I guess. I'm just gonna miss you so much."

"No, you're not acting silly. I'd honestly be concerned if you were acting any other way. I'll miss you too, we'll FaceTime everyday."

"I know. It'll be fine."

He kissed me goodbye and then walked to the gate. He turned and waved before he boarded the plane. I waved back and watched as he disappeared out of my sight.

I walked out of the airport and got in my car. My phone buzzed and it was my 'real' dad. I groaned a little. He was really trying hard to get close to me again, but I wasn't ready. He wanted to get dinner tomorrow night, but it had been just two days since we had eaten lunch.

I ignored the text and drove home. I'd ask Mom what I should do. Although she'd probably just tell me to make my own decision.

I pulled into the driveway and walked inside the house. Mom was in the kitchen, so I walked straight in there.

"Hey honey." She said.

"Hey." I said.

I walked to the fridge and got out a coke to drink.

"Michael on his way?"

"Yep." I said as I took a drink.

"He's honestly not a bad boy. He kind of grew on me."

"I'm glad. He's really such a sweet guy. You just gotta give him a chance."

"Hopefully your dad will warm up to him."

"Yeah, both of them need to." I said.

When I had told my adopted dad about us dating, he hadn't taken as well as Mom had. He basically looked at us like we were idiots and said that Michael was useless because he was in a band and didn't have a proper job. Yeah, we kind of yelled at each other about that and hadn't spoken since. I honesty felt bad.

"Is Dad here?" I asked.

"Yeah, out in the garage." She said.

"I'm gonna go talk to him, but first I need your advice on something. It's about my real dad."

"Okay, you've got too many dads." She chuckled.

"Yeah, tell me about it. Anyway, he texted wanting to have dinner tomorrow night. What do you think?"

"What do you think?" She asked.

I knew that was coming.

"I don't know, Mom. I'm still scared."

"Well so am I. I mean people can change and he seems to have made a big one. But I'm still unsure. How about you ask him to come here and eat dinner?"

"Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll do that."

I texted him and told him what Mom had said and then I walked out to the garage. Dad was tuning up his motorcycle. I slowly walked over to him.
