//I don't know why, but he looks so cute here. But, he always looks cute\\

Michael

As Avery and I rode back to her house, I thought about what had just happened. How she had just basically told me her life story.

I couldn't imagine that. Having your own father treat you that way and not knowing where he or your mother was. No wonder she had trust issues, I would too.

I'm just glad she trusted me and that even without knowing it, I had been helping her, through our music. It was times like these that made me realize why we really do what we do.

It's not just for us, not just because we love it, but because we have the ability to help so many people like Avery. It really was humbling.

"You're awful quiet over there." Avery said to me.

"Oh, just thinking."

"Oh, that's not good."

I chuckled. "Why not?"

"When Michael Clifford says that he's thinking, it's never a good thing."

"You sound like Calum." I said.

"Well maybe it's because I've heard him say it a few times."

I chuckled and shook my head. She really was the ultimate fan, but not on a weird or creepy level. Like she knew a lot about us, but she wasn't obsessive about it. I liked that.

"So, how long have you been a fan?" I asked.

"Since the very beginning, like when Luke was doing covers alone."

"No way!" I said.

"Yep. I was just looking up random videos on YouTube one day and I saw a picture of this blonde boy with a guitar. I clicked it and he came up. I loved his voice, so I subscribed to it and well, the rest is history."

"Wow..so I guess you were there when he and I started together."

"Oh yeah. That was a good day."

"Really? I thought we looked ridiculous."

"Oh my gosh no! You were so cute!! Oh...I mean...nevermind."

I laughed. She was so cute, she had literally fangirled right in front of me and she was so embarrassed, it was adorable.

"Oh my gosh, that was so cute." I said.

"No, no it wasn't. That was embarrassing. I'm sorry you had to hear and see that."

"Really, it's fine. You shouldn't feel bad, I think it's cute."

"Okay then. Well I still feel like an idiot."

"Why? Just because I'm in the band shouldn't make you think that you can't talk about them or get excited. I love seeing it."

"It's just that, I figured you get people freaking out in front of you all the time. Doesn't it get kind of tiring?"

"Not at all. Some people do take it a bit extreme, but the ones who are suttle about it aren't bad. Especially when they say that they love us and how much we've done and don't even know it, like with you. That made me realize how much we really impact people."

"Well, you have helped many. You also helped me meet one of my best friends."

"Seriously? That's amazing!"

"Yeah, it's amazing what you guys have done." She said.

"I only hope we can do more for you and others."

"You will, don't worry. You'll help more people then you'll ever know." She said.

I looked over at her. Her bluish green eyes popped and her blond hair was blowing some in the wind, as she had the windows down. She was beautiful and I could feel myself starting to feel something else towards her, other then friendship.

I felt some connection with her. Like I needed to protect her. I needed to protect her from the world and her father. Even though she had no idea where he was, it didn't mean that he couldn't come back someday. I felt like I needed to protect her from that.

We got back to her house and she parked in the driveway. We got out and unloaded the car. We brought everything in the house and basically dumped it at the door, except for the food.

"Mom and Dad went out, so it's just us." She said, coming out of the kitchen.

"Cool. What do you wanna do?" I asked.

"We could watch a movie."

"Sounds good to me." I said.

"Okay, what do you like?"

"I don't care."

She rolled her eyes at me.

"No, you have to pick." She said.

"Okay, fine. I'm in a weird Batman mood. Got any of those?"

"Do I?" She said. "Only all three of them!"

"Dude, we should binge watch all three." I said.

"Sounds good to me."

So that's what we did. We literally cuddled on the couch and watched Batman for almost six hours.

It was perfect. Like this was my definition of a perfect night. I knew this girl was special and I also knew that I was starting to develop feelings for her and I didn't know if that was a good thing or not.
