//One smile: a thousand feelings\\
Avery
I woke up to my alarm going off. I hit snooze and rubbed my eyes, then I remembered. Today was Michael's birthday. I quickly got up, threw on some skinny jeans and a t shirt, brushed through my hair, applied mascara and walked into the kitchen. His mom was already there, but no sign of Michael, thankfully.
"Good morning." His mom said.
"Morning. Is Michael up yet?"
"Not that I know of."
"Okay good. I have to go get the rest of his present. I'll be back in a bit." I said.
I left the house and walked to the store. I was giving him the book as his present, along with some new guitar picks. I just needed to print the last few pictures and get them in the book. It wouldn't take me long to do. I planned on going to a coffee shop down the street to finish. I didn't want to do it at his house, in case he found it.
I got the pictures from the pharmacy and then walked down to the coffee shop. I got some coffee and then sat down at a corner table. I placed the pictures in each slot and then I went back through and wrote down either a quote or song lyric, beside his name. Some times I would also add a personal note from myself.
"Well hey there."
I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see Calum walking towards me. He smiled when I looked up and I smiled back. He came and hugged me, then sat across from me.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Working on Michael's birthday gift. It's a surprise and I haven't finished it yet."
"Oh cool. What is it?"
He leaned over, trying to look at it. I handed it to him and he looked through it some.
"Wow, this is amazing." He said. "You really love him, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do." I said. "I wanted him to know just how much and to know how much he's helped me. All of you have, really."
He handed me the book back and I put the last of the pictures in.
"When are you gonna give it to him?" He asked.
"I don't know. I was thinking after the part tonight. You're coming, right?"
"Of course! Wouldn't miss it."
"Great." I said.
Karen was throwing Michael a party and all the boys and their families were invited. I was planning on giving Michael the book after his party. I know how embarrassed he can get when people do stuff like this for him, so I thought it would be a little more special if I just gave it to him in private.
Calum and I left the coffee shop. I got in my car and drove back to Michael's house. I stuck the book in my bag, just in case I didn't make it to my room before Michael saw me.
I walked straight to my room and put the book under my pillow. I put my bag in a corner and when I turned around, Michael was standing in the doorway.
"How long have you been standing there?" I asked.
"I literally just got here." He said. "Where have you been?"
"Out." I said, smirking.
"Oh really? What's that smirk for?"
"Wouldn't you like to know." I said, still smirking.
"Yeah, actually I would."
"You'll find out soon enough. Now come on, let's play some PS4."
