double update plus its pretty because i broke my phone and have to use my sisters and I might not be able to update for a while

calum and luke rushed michael's house. normally they wouldn't be this urgent about everything but michael has had history that makes them anxious and scared for him. michael had been medically diagnosed with depression in the eighth grade. the boys aren't sure if he still has it because he gets all weird and awkward when they bring it up and if he does still have it then he's good at hiding it.

luke and calum are trying to call him but he's not answering anymore and neither is ashton. although the messages calum is sending are being left on read.

they quickly pull up outside of michael's gates, no one except him home (maybe his maid but she probably went home already). his mother drowned herself in work when his father left them so she stays late at work. michael always complains about never seeing her and how the housekeeper should just be his mum.

they type in the gate code and drive in, luke parking as best as he could in a rush and in the middle of the night. calum was the first to get out and run to the door, opening the door and rushing inside.

luke followed behind and saw calum outside of michael's door. "mikey? open up, babe, please. it's us, cal and luke." calum called quietly, jiggling the locked door handle.

it was silent on the other side and calum just wanted to break the door and run inside. but he just sighed and knocked harder. "michael, open the do-"

suddenly the door unlocked and swung open, revealing a red eyed michael. he looked so small and sad in one of ashton's lettermen jackets from sophomore year when he played football (american). he didn't say anything just collapsed into calum's arms and sobbed quietly.

luke sighed in relief, seeing his best friend isn't hurt physically. he gives calum and michael a kiss on the forehead before walking into the hallway and dialing up ashton again. unfortunately the blond didn't answer. after two more tries, he stopped and went back to michael's room. michael was laying his head on calum's lap and crying.

"what happened, mike?" luke asked softly, sitting down on the bed next to them.

"h-he texted me and said th-that he doesn't want to d-date me. h-he called me an obsessed f-freak when i asked him why." michael sobbed, giving his phone to luke. the messages were up and luke couldn't believe ashton actually said that.

"i don't know what happened. w-we were good after school today and he even kissed me on the lips and told me i looked beautiful today." michael frowned as he calmed down a bit. calum was still petting his soft brown hair (it's not fetus michael hair just the color because i can't choose what my favorite hair color of his is).

"this makes no sense but because of the way he broke up with you, we won't talk to him. we'll ignore him until he realizes how much of a mistake he made." calum said softly and michael nodded.

michael got a ride from luke and calum the next day, not wanting to take his car and he usually got a ride from ashton.

when they got to school they didn't see ashton at the beginning. they went about their days, not seeing much of ashton all day. luke came across him during passing period and shot him dirty looks and glares that ashton just frowned at. ashton didn't bother confronting him, luke assumed he knew what he did was wrong.

by lunch the three boys were sitting at their usual table. michael had been sad all day, keeping his head down and nibbling on his sandwich.

calum wanted to scream when he saw ashton walk into the cafeteria with arzaylea following close behind. he looked just as sad as michael and when his eyes met calum's, he only got a cold stare from calum before he looked away. ashton sighed and sat three tables away with that rest of the jocks. it's where he sat five years ago before he became best friends with his now ex best friends.
