Shawn was wearing a dark gray shirt and black jeans. His hair was spiked up in the front as usual. His smile filled every corner of the room with happiness. Jess was not sure why she reacted the way she did, but she guessed it was her emotions kicking in.

She felt like the ceiling was crushing her. All of the air was knocked out of her lungs and there was nothing to breath. Shawn looked at her with those warm brown eyes and opened his arms. He motioned for her to come to him. But her feet were glued to the ground beneath her. Tears swelled in her eyes. She covered her face with her hands. Suddenly, she felt self-conscious,

"I...I can't. I'm too...too ugly. Way too ugly." Jess mumbled, scared of what Shawn would think about her appearance. She never thought of herself as beautiful. That word was reserved for only a few special people in this world. Her face was spotted with acne, though she tried to cover it with makeup. Her body was small and slightly slender. She was only a few inches over five feet, giving Shawn a whole foot to tower over her. Her curly brown hair fell past her hunched-over shoulders. She wore a simple flannel shirt and ripped jeans, but somehow she felt more insecure than ever.

"Come here beautiful!" Shawn said, starting to walk to her. Once he was only a little bit over a foot away, her feet unglued and she ran to him. Wrapping her arms around his muscular body, Jess laid her head in his chest. She could feel the thump of his heart beating against her temples. She closed her eyes and wished this moment could last forever. Shawn smelled of sweet mint and cinnamon. The tears had lessened because she didn't want to get his shirt wet.

After what felt like too short of a time, Shawn let go of her and got ready to take a picture. Each person was allowed up to three pictures with him. For the first one, Jess stood next to him, wrapped her arm around his lower back and he held her close.

"What next?" Shawn asked her after the picture was taken. As if she hadn't been thinking about these poses for months.

"Um..." Jess moved in front of him, faced away from his body and took his arms, wrapping them around her. He rested his chin on her head. She was in heaven. Pure heaven. Finally it was the last picture and Jess knew exactly what she wanted to do. She moved so they stood with their backs to the doors, facing each other. Shawn smiled kindly at her. She put her hands up in front of her face, motioning for Shawn to do the same. He put his palms against her's, interlocking their fingers. Then since Shawn knew this pose, he started leaning his head towards her's. Jess rose to her tippy toes as he bowed his head closer to her's. Once their forehead's touched, they both froze. They gazed into each other's eyes.

For the first time, Jess got to clearly see Shawn's facial features. He had dimples and a perfect, rounded nose. His eyebrows, as always, were on fleek. He was so freaking cute! His muscles could be seen because he wore a t-shirt and dang, was he hot. Not even the sun could reach his degree of hotness. After a few more seconds Shawn hesitantly let go. This surprised Jess. She wasn't sure why he had stopped for a second before releasing her. Did he not want to let go? If not, why? So many questions raced through her head. Before she knew it, the security guy was ushering her out towards the door. Quickly she pried the blue bracelet she made off her wrist. She put it gently in Shawn's hands.

"I made this for you. I love you Shawn." Jess said. She turned around and started to walk away. But she felt a soft hand on her shoulder once again. This time, it was not her mom.

"Wait!" Shawn said, "Thank you, I love it! What...what is your name?" he asked, his voice quivering with uncertainty.

"I'm Jess."

"Well Jess, I want you to know that you are not ugly. Not at all. Actually, you are the opposite. You are insanely beautiful Jess, do you hear me! Never say that about yourself again. I love you! I love you Jess." Shawn smiled one last time at her, his eyes locked on her face before the next fan entered and he was forced to pay attention to them. The security guard roughly pushed Jess out the door before she could even get a last glance at Shawn.

Shawn had said he loved her. But most of all, he said she was beautiful. Shawn Mendes thought Jess was beautiful.
