**Sorry that this is so short! I'm at my brother's baseball game and you know how that goes...
-------------------------------------------------
Sunlight shone through her window, as Jess woke. Her eyes hurt and she felt like poop. Then last nights happenings came back to her. Shawn. Alli. Kiss. Hurt. Slap. Run. Cry.
It took all of her strength to get out of bed. It was already 10 and her mom was at work, so she was alone. Jess looked at her phone and saw she had fifteen missed calls. All from Shawn. He left voicemails for all of them. Reluctantly, she listened to them.
The first one started playing.
"Jess, it's me. Please, please pick up. Listen to me, I did not kiss Alli. She kissed me! I love you so much, please don't keep believing a lie! I only have feelings for you! Not her! I would never do that to you!" Shawn's voice cracked and Jess could tell he was crying. "Jess, cupc-Jess. Please believe me!" Then it ended. The next one played.
"Jess I know you are there! Don't do this! Please! You are my...my everything. You help me to go out and preform all the time! You keep me going. Without you, I'm..I guess I'm nothing. Listen to me! Don't you trust me because I trust you with my life! So just listen and believe me that Alli tried to get me back and I tried to resist. My hands were on her hips because I was trying to push her away. Not because I was trying to deepen the kiss. I only want to kiss you, no one else. Never anyone else!" Second one down. Jess went to start the next one, tears forming in her eyes, but it was too much. She sat there, staring at her phone screen with all of the voicemails. Then she pressed out of them and back to her home screen. There, as her background, was a picture of her and Shawn on the beach. They took it a few weeks back. Jess remembered the moment like it was yesterday. It was sunset and she, her mom and Shawn's family were at the beach all day. Shawn, Aaliyah, and her were playing monkey-in-the-middle with a ball and Shawn was in the middle. But he was so tall and the girls could not throw it without him getting it. Aaliyah had the ball and Jess decided that the only way to get the ball was to be as tall at Shawn. So she snuck up behind him and jumped on his back. To her surprise, Shawn held her and kept her on his back. He then started running around in the sand, giving her a piggy back ride. Someone had taken a picture of them and now, it was her screen saver. They had been smiling, full of laughter and joy. Jess's arms were around Shawn's neck and his were looped under her legs to support her. Where had those moments gone? Where had they gone? Jess dropped her phone on her bed and stood up. She had to quit thinking about Shawn. It was over. Walking to her closet, she threw on sweats and went to the bathroom to do her hair. She put it in a messy braid and sighed. Shawn would have called it beautiful and gave her a kiss. But he was not here. Jess shook the thought out of her head and turned on her computer. It was time to post her daily cover of something. She turned on the camera and got her guitar. Shawn had got it for her on their 4 month anniversary, counting the time he was in Europe. He had taught her how to play, day after day.
The film started.
"Hi guys!" Jess croaked out and fake smiled.
"I'm gonna sing, uh...I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift. An oldie, but a goodie." Jess tuned her guitar. Then she sang.
"I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, troubleNo apologies. He'll never see you cry,
Pretends he doesn't know that he's the reason why."
