All men sat in the meeting room silent and looked carefully at the raging boss. Chad was pacing around nervously and the night had to be tough, considering the fact no one wanted to confess.

"Which one of you, fucking pussies, gave her food?"-he demanded. "Who let her out?"

No one spoke.

Chad hissed and filled his glass once again. He was beyond being angry and the last hour of tense silence wasn't exactly easing the situation.

"Who was on watch?"-he asked ramming his hands at the table.

"I was",-Nicholas admitted and pulled his eyes down not to meet his mad leader.

Nicholas felt guilty, but he was also proud enough not to show this guilt for he knew exactly, he was way too important in all those experiments and no one could compete to him in chemistry. He felt somewhat safe because of this. However, no one saw Haynes this mad before as he was now.

"When I said don't let her out of the sight, what did you think I meant?"-he raised his voice, pale face with evil glint in the eyes pulled up at Nick.

"I got distracted, sorry."

"What did distract you?"

"There was pretty weird sound at the lab 2. Glass shattering. Or whatever."

Chad rolled his eyes. He knew Nick pretty well. Even though he was throwing this little interrogation towards him, it was obvious Nick wouldn't release her on purpose. He simply didn't care about her not even in the slightest. "And being so curious you walked away."

"Look, i'm not ashamed,"-Nicholas reasoned and everyone's eyes then was pinned at him. "I'm not your dog to be left by the door watch the damn bitch while you're doing god knows what."

"I have work!"-Chad said calmly, trying not to show his anger. "And I don't need your permission to go away."

He slopped on his chair in the most honorable spot by the round table and eyed his companions suspiciously.

"Come on, man!"-Sam was the first to start talking after the awkward pause,-"Is this necessary? This intervention? I'm not sure who did this, but luckily, we're not like you, we can't just starve her to death. Someone must've felt guilty or whatever."

"For someone who doesn't want to be like me, you sure are good at it!"-he snapped angrily, making Sam roll his eyes in annoyance. "I'll ask once again. Who did this? Which one of you betrayed me?"

There was creepy silence at the meeting room and no one wanted to confess. Chad knew it's gonna be epic. The thing he will do to the traitor.

"Someone gave her food",-he continued. "Someone let her out. There will be consequences. Do I have your attention now?"

"I'd blame my incompetence",-Darren began nervously lighting a cigarette,- "but I think she just escaped. Simple. No one would act behind your back, you know that, Haynes!"

"Since when you became this smart?"

"We all knew that eventually she would gonna go off!"-Darren trailed, while others sat silent and were curiously waiting for someone to confess. "She's strong. Serene's probably somewhere at the woods now, shaking like a scared bunny. I'd say we go take her, use all the stash we have down here and finally get rid of her once and for all."

"Is my boy genius?"-Chad then bursted laughing like a mad man. "Why don't we just skip with the theatrics and get right to the point? You can cover up tracks, but i'll find the one who is responsible for this!"

"Look!"-Sam stood up suddenly, feeling angry and annoyed. "We're together in this, whoever did this, family comes first. And we are one. So...Let her be."
