Meanwhile in the castle

The right hand of the Duke Eligos, dear friend and a loyal guard Marathael took the human out of the meeting hall and left the council for discussion.

As soon as his hooded back disappeared behind the dark dungeons door, 12 demons took their places behind the table.

"Cecil, step forth!"-the Duke roared from his throne.

The evil soul crouched carefully towards the table, where council members sat and eyed him suspiciously.

"You did good!"-the king continued and pulled a silver goblet to his lips. "And now, i, on the presence of the council, give you a word to fulfill every of your desire, anything you want, for you pleased me bringing the girl here, so we can finally make Lucifer accept the prophesy."

"Did good, King?"-Cecil smiled sadly and his black heart squirmed with sorrow,-"I betrayed the one I had swore my loyalty to, so You and Your kingdom may flourish. Shameful, ungrateful and wrong. That's who I am now."

"Isn't this all your kingdom as well? This is your home too. Once you told me, Cecil. You want nothing more than to have a human body,"-the Duke stood up and approached Cecil, who held his eyes up to meet the fearful leader. "Look at you. You are a child of war, since that day wolfs infested the earth and spilled the blood of human women. You were born from rage and you disgust everything on your way. Even the stars are hiding seeing your ugly face. So tell me, what kind of life is that? I grant you freedom, and grant you perfect human body in which you can live till the day I stop breathing."

"Duke...there were times I would do anything to get rid of this disgusting body. Now I realize my mistake. It's not worth my King's hatred."

"Still...you betrayed him. Let's see what Mr.Haynes thinks about you now?"

"Duke, please!"

The Duke pulled his phone from the pocket and dialed a number. "Mr.Haynes?"-he roared again, as soon as angry male voice picked up. "How are things going? Are you getting close?"

"Trust me, i'm coming, you son of a..."-hissed Mr.Haynes into a speaker.

"Don't do this, King!"-Cecil begged desperately knowing very well what's waiting for this betrayal.

"No need for this drama, neither your disrespectful words, Haynes. I want you to know that your lovely pray, and my new guest is feeling quite comfortable around my chambers. You may consider leaving her here."

"You gonna be sorry the second i'll get to you. I'm powerful as ever, Morgan."

"Tell me-what do you see watching at the mirror?"

"It's a copy of you, but less miserable and more intelligent."

"You still joke. It's funny in a way. Go on, make your threats! But you don't have a backup, right? Even the loyal one, your poor evil soul is on my side now! Did you know? You must thank Cecil, it's because of him your human is now enjoying all the splendor I've got to offer,"-king laughed, when tense silence came from the speakers. "Oh what's wrong?"-he teased. "Cat got your tongue? Didn't see it coming, did you?"

"It doesn't matter anymore. Listen here, motherfucker. I'll rip your head off if you hurt her!"

"So that's what you think about me? That I torture people just like you do? Yeah, she told me, told me everything, Haynes. All the things you did to her or was willing to do is quite interesting. But it's ok. I knew you would give way for your miserable lustful soul."

"Yeah. It's not that it concerns you, right? Soon we'll talk in person. Send my love for Cecil."

"He's here. And he's sorry for betraying you, really!" However, even if sincere the Duke tried to sound, his words were filled with untold bitterness. "Leave him out of this."

"Well...thing is-i never forget. Let him know about it."

"Bye bye now, Lucifer. Don't take too long. We have a negotiation to hold."

"Yeah, shove it up your ass."

"Rude. I get it."

And the king hung up. "Say it, Cecil. What is more important for you? You, or your king, who turned his back at you the second you displeased him?"

Cecil was silent for a moment. He tried to dig into his soul and find out what is it he really desires? Was he worth to live the way he wanted or was he shameful enough to confess the obvious- to be just a soul, a servant for something bigger than him?

And so he made a decision. Hastened. And wrong, obviously. "I choose me!"-he said with such amount of pain in his voice the whispers echoed among the council.

Cecil was the one and only, who loved Lucifer unconditionally. All those years he spent preparing for his king's triumphant moment, for the prophesy was destined-he had to become the eternal ruler of hell, the last heir Lucifer was oath to unify legions and so the underworld could rise from the ashes and flourish with it's grate power.

But Cecil didn't know the plans of the Duke. He was powerful, yes, but the Duke wasn't the best example of a ruler. He wanted money, fame and swipe all the human race from the surface of earth, so his dirty, worm eaten soul could infest the lands. And the longer there is no destined leader, since the prophesy is coming to force, the land, his precious world is crashing down.

"I choose me!"-Cecil said once again sounding more determined. He was just a servant, but like every being, he didn't want to die without a trace.

"Very well!"-Duke nodded. "Now go. The time is running off. Choose the body to infest. The ground is becoming thick and dead. The second Haynes comes here, i'm gonna need every drop of power, I won't be able to waste it on you."

"Yes, Duke, I brought you something you desired, after all. Will you kill her?"

"What is it, Cecil? You doubt my word?"

"A poor human soul Lucifer brags about. She is our salvation from the doom. I get it. And when he accepts the prophesy and You will kill him, would You let her go?"

"Haven't decided yet. You want a reward for this, soul?"

"You promised me human body, Duke. Promise You would leave her alive."

"You're walking a fine line now, Cecil. But you pleased me. So... Choose, Cecil, choose anyone you want to poses. I grant you freedom. But don't try my patience with these absurd demands."

"I want her. I want to poses her."

"Interesting. This might be funny in a way. But tell me-you love your king, Cecil?

"With all my being."

"You used to love me too."

"You know I don't have a free will, Duke. I'm loyal for the king. And You're not one any longer."

"True. But it's just a formality so far. Till he accepts the prophesy, I am the ruler. Go. Infest her, feed from her. Lure him into the charms and make him fall once again."

"If this is destined, i'll make him crack."

"I couldn't say better myself."
