Making A Big Mistake

"Darcy, you're going to have to stay in this hotel room for a few days. I'm going to come every day. In fact, tomorrow I'll get your favorite books and you can buy some new ones from the bookshop downstairs." I say, as I hug Darcy tightly. Reggie and I made a deal; Darcy will stay in a separate hotel room, and he or his men won't bother her. They'll only come and give her food and make sure she's fine. However, there will be a guard outside her door all day long. In return, I will fish out the information from Harry and report back to Reggie. It pains me to do this, but I have no choice.
"I want to come with you." Darcy insists, yet again.
"Darcy, I'm sorry, but you can't. However, I promise that after a few days I'll take you home." I assure her. Darcy pulls back reluctantly.
"Bye, Darcy." I give her a tiny wave as I exit the hotel room. She doesn't wave back. I shut the door behind me hastily. I know that I will break down into tears in a minute. I've been keeping them in because I don't want Darcy to see. With a heavy heart, I make my way towards the elevator.
"See you soon!" Reggie says, exiting his suite. I don't reply, but keep walking. My hands are itching to punch him. He makes one wrong move right now, and I don't think I'll be able to control myself anymore.
"Rude much." Reggie scoffs. Asshole. Bastard. Son of a fucking bitch. I round the corner and my knees buckle from underneath me. I sink onto the ground, clutching my knees close to my chest. What am I going to do? Betray Harry? I'm a snitch. I'm going against my boyfriend and if I don't, my daughter dies. I want to yell in frustration. Why is everything so goddamn hard in my life? Couldn't I lead a simple life with Harry and Darcy? I wipe my tears with the back of my hand and get up. I need to plan a date for tonight.
********
The doorbell rings as I'm fastening the clips on my bra.
"I'll get it!" Zahra yells from downstairs. When I got home, I learnt that Zahra and Harry have already planned a date for tonight. She did ask me as to where Darcy is, and I told her that Darcy's at her friend's house. Surprisingly, Zahra didn't engage in any further inquiry, which is so unlike her.
"Harry's here!" Zahra yells.
"Okay!" Hastily I wear my dress, and slide my feet into my pumps. I'm not a fan of heel shoes. Especially, not on a night like this when I don't know what to expect. I exit my room, grabbing my phone from the table. I take one last look at myself in the mirror that's hung on the wall, outside my room, and rush down the stairs. I skid to a halt at the last step, when I see Harry standing near the door, patiently waiting for me.
"Hi," I say.
"You look...breathtaking." Harry says, eyeing me up and down.
"Thank you." I bite my lip, looking down because I don't want Harry to see the slight blush that's crept up my cheeks.
"Shall we?" Harry asks me, offering me his arm. I nod my head, grabbing onto it. My palms are sweaty, and I rub them against my dress, before taking Harry's arm. He looks at me quizzically, but I ignore his look. This is going to fail. Harry will find out what I'm up to and Darcy will suffer. Why did I even agree to this? I'm a horrible liar, and Harry can see right through me.
"Mus, are you okay?" Harry asks me, once we're seated in the car. I nod my head. "Are you sure? You seem sick and uncomfortable."
"I'm fine, Harry!" I snap at him, even though I didn't intend to. Pouting, Harry starts the engine and pulls out of the driveway. Sighing, I lean my head against the seat.
"Where are we going, Harry?" I ask him, hoping to relax the tension in the car.
"I'm not telling." Harry says playfully. I'm glad he's not mad at me for snapping at him in that manner. "Zahra, and I thought about this new concept today afternoon, after you left the house and went to pick up Darcy." Shit! I hate Zahra for telling him that. Though I'm amazed that I haven't suffered Harry's wrath yet. I look at him sheepishly.
"Yeah, babe, I get all the news." Harry says, smiling proudly to himself. I punch his shoulder playfully.
"Oh, please! You can't keep me boxed at home forever," I say.
"Want me to try?" Harry risks a quick glance my way and winks at me.
"You wouldn't dare!" Harry chuckles, taking my hand in his over the center console. I clear my throat, already hating myself for what I'm about to do.
"Harry, I want you to spend a whole day with me," I say. "It's been so long since we've gone shopping together. In fact, I could show you around Singapore."
"I'd love that, Mus. Just tell me the day, and I'm at your service." Harry says, tipping a fake hat.
"Next week, I guess."
"Sure, but not on Tuesday."
"Why not?"
"I have work to do on Tuesday."
"Oh, come on, Harry. All of the discounts are available on a Tuesday." I whine, tugging at his hand like a child.
"Mus, I'd love to spend Tuesday with you and avail all of the discounts. However, I have to transport something till the border and it's going to take the whole day. I'm sorry," Harry says. Okay, so he's transporting the gold on a Tuesday.
"You could spend half of the day with me, like till noon. And then you can run off and transport whatever you want to." I know Harry's going to start getting irritated soon, but I have no choice. I need to get the information for Reggie.
"Mus, I have to be at the warehouse at nine because I need to personally supervise the loading. After that, I'll be heading out with the van because I need to make sure this is done correctly. And if you want something done correctly, you should do it yourself." Harry's going to be in that van? My heart beat speeds up and it's slamming against my chest. Reggie hates Harry and there's no telling what he'll do when he meets Harry in a vulnerable position. I'm making a very big mistake.
