My phone rings beside me, pulling me out of my thoughts. Reggie's name flashes across the screen, and I grab it immediately.
"Hello!" I say, a little more excitedly than I had planned.
"So eager to chat with me, babe." Reggie says in his usual nonchalant tone. I roll my eyes, sighing.
"Why are you calling?" I ask him.
"Did you get what I asked you to?" Reggie's voice is filled with curiosity.
"Y-Yeah," I say hesitantly. All night I've been pondering about this situation. Either way someone I love is getting hurt, and I'm the reason why.
"Then what are you waiting for to tell me? Christmas?"
"I'm going to leave in five minutes. I'll tell you when I arrive," I say.
"Babe, you really know how to keep a guy on his feet. Now I know why Harry likes you so much." Without saying anything else, I end the call, and get up. The sooner I get this over with the better. If I think about this too much, I'll go mad. Fortunately, Zahra isn't home and neither is Harry. Saves me the trouble of explaining as to where I'm going.

"Darcy, I'll be back, okay? But I want you to finish your lunch," I say. Darcy nods her head, her mouth full with lasagna. I grab my phone and the car key and head out of her room. Reggie's room is a little way down the hall from Darcy's. The guard outside the door smirks at me, but I ignore him. I ring the bell of Reggie's suit. The door swings open and Reggie's standing on the other side, grinning like an asshole.
"Welcome!" Reggie greets me, gesturing for me to enter. I oblige. "I've ordered lunch for us."
"Great," I murmur, rolling my eyes. I take a seat on the bed, placing my phone and key beside me. Reggie sits on the chair, in front of the bed, looking at me expectantly.
"So?" Reggie asks me, shaking his leg impatiently. I swallow before answering.
"Harry's moving the gold on Tuesday. From his warehouse," I say.
"Who's he sending with the gold?" I look around the room, playing with my ring. "Who's he sending with the gold?" Reggie repeats, impatiently.
"He's not sending anyone." I clear my throat. "He's supervising this shipment himself." I hear Reggie clap, and let out a loud laugh. I look up at him to find him doubling over in laughter. The guy's lost his mind.
"I get to kill two birds with one stone. How wonderful!" Reggie says, still laughing.
"What do you mean?" I ask him.
"I'm going to take the gold, and...injure Harry." Reggie smiles to himself triumphantly. "Two birds with one stone."
"Don't you dare harm Harry!" I say, pointing an accusatory finger at him. "Please." I don't know what I'll do without Harry. What will Darcy do?
"Maybe," Reggie says, shrugging his shoulders. Suddenly, Reggie gasps.
"I've got the perfect idea!" Reggie exclaims. "Why don't you accompany me on this mission? It'll be perfect. You can watch your beloved's gold getting taken, thanks to you, of course. And you can shoot him yourself." I get up, appalled.
"I will do nothing of the sort, and neither will you." I say, grabbing my key and phone. "Don't you dare lay a single finger on Harry." Reggie looks at me with a malicious grin.
"Babe, I don't love Harry. My bullet might just pierce his heart...I don't know, or his head. You, on the other hand, love him. If you shoot him, your bullet will probably go through his abdomen. Weigh the odds, and decide." I want to punch Reggie until he dies. How can he put me in this position? Hasn't he done enough. Goddammit! I can't shoot Harry. I know I won't be able to. However, I don't know what Reggie's capable of. He can very well kill Harry, without feeling a single ounce of regret.
"Think about it, Mus. My bullet or yours," Reggie says. He moves his palms up and down, as if he's weighing something. Closing my eyes, I inhale a deep breath. I can save Harry. I will save Harry.
"I'll do it," I say. "I'll accompany you and shoot Harry."
"Good choice!" Reggie says, and I know he's feeling great satisfaction.
"Bye," I murmur.
"Hope to see you on Tuesday!" Reggie says from behind me. I can save Harry.
***********
"Mus, check this out!" Harry says from the bed, as I open my braid. "They're going to be staging Lion King, live at the Marina Bay Sands. Darcy will love to go and watch it. I'll book the tickets right now." I smile at his high level of enthusiasm. "When did you say she's returning from camp?"
"Next week," I say.
"Do you know the date?"
"I did, but I forgot. I don't know where my mind is nowadays." Harry waves his hand in the air, as if to dismiss what I just said.
"It's okay. I'll just book the tickets for the week after. Just to be safe." I throw myself on the bed beside Harry.
"Harry?" I begin.
"Hmm?" Harry is typing his credit card details into the computer.
"Remember what you said last night, regarding the shipment?" Harry nods his head, though he's not paying full attention to me. "I was thinking about it last night. Suddenly a thought came to my mind, it's pretty dangerous, right? The whole shipment?"
"Yeah," Harry murmurs. "Done!" He puts the laptop screen down and turns to face me. "Don't worry, Mus. I'll be fine." Harry takes my hand in his, and rubs smoothing circles on it.
"You might think that, but I can't. After all, I can't help but worry about you," I say. "Maybe you could wear a bullet proof jacket." Harry looks at me as if I'm speaking French.
"Have you worn a bullet proof jacket? They're so uncomfortable. I'm not wearing it." Harry says, shaking his head.
"Please. For me. It'll help me sleep at night." Harry sighs, nodding his head.
"Fine. If it'll help you feel better, I'll wear a bullet proof jacket." I smile at him, feeling slightly satisfied.
"Thank you." Harry leaves my hand and gets up to place his laptop on the table.
"Anyways Mus, nothing can happen to me because I've got your's and Darcy's love." Harry winks at me, grinning cheekily. If only he knew. Something will happen to him, and it will be because of me.
