Each step hurts like hell. I want to scream in agony, but I can't. Harry is right beside me and if I so much as cringe in pain, he'll notice. Darn his observant skills.
"Harry, are we going to walk all the way?" I say, stumbling slightly. Harry stops and tightens his grip on my arms.
"Mus, are you seriously alright? Don't lie to me." Harry says, concern etched into his face. I nod my head.
"I'm fine. I just took a misstep." Harry looks at my ankles yet again, not satisfied with my answer.
"I-I don't think that this is a good idea."
"Oh, come on, Harry. I didn't wake up so early for nothing." I tug at his hand. I don't want to turn back now. We've covered a lot of ground; from the hotel to the beach. Harry huffs, and leans down. Before I can comprehend what he's doing, I'm scooped up into his arms, bridal style.
"What're you doing?" I say, laughing.
"Not letting you walk all the way," Harry replies. I roll my eyes, resting my head against his chest.
"Harry?" I say, after a while.
"Hmm?" I'm feeling sleepy by the gentle movements of his long strides. I should be uncomfortable in Harry's arms. However, I always feel the safest in his arms.
"If I don't manage to fulfill all of the wishes that are written in my diary, please complete them for me." Harry sighs, kissing my hair.
"You'll fulfill all of these wishes and many more," Harry says. I wish I could.
"I know," I whisper. "But if I can't, you promise to complete them, right?" I don't receive an answer from Harry, so I look up toward his face. "Harry? Please."
"I don't think I'll be able to function without you, much less complete your wishes." Harry says, looking into the distance. "You've become my world, Mus. Imagine humanity without the planet Earth. It wouldn't exist, there would be no humans left. That will be my situation if you left. You can't leave me." I close my eyes, willing myself to keep calm and remain composed. Harry will move on. He will have to.
"Life moves on, with or without many people." I say, but my voice is barely above a whisper. I'm trying to reassure myself, more than Harry. This is the only fear that's eating me alive. I don't know if I'll be able to see Harry, or what's going to happen to me up there. However, I do want to assure that he will remain happy and move on. Find another woman, and take care of Darcy. Without me with her, Darcy will need her father a lot. He'll be the only relative that she has, other than her supposed uncles: Louis, Liam, Niall and Zayn. I wonder if I'll miss them. Will I even remember this life?
"Mus?" Harry says, interrupting my train of thoughts.
"Yeah?"
"I love you. A lot."
"Me too," I say.
"We're here!" Harry sings, after a while. I don't know if I dozed off, or if we covered a lot of distance during our conversation. I open my eyes and look around at our surroundings. There's a man-made waterfall flowing toward my right. I can tell that it's man-made by the way the stone is carved. I remember geography class, when they taught us how to spot the difference between a man-made and natural waterfall. Guess school does come in handy once in a while. Harry puts me down.
"Wait for it," Harry says. I keep switching my gaze from the waterfall to the sky. The sky is filled with a large variety of different colors. Ranging from yellow to orange, and slight tinges of red. Suddenly, the sky seems to lighten and darken at the same time, and the colors of the sky reflect on the waterfall.
"Now!" Harry says, excitement radiating off him. Everything seems to become more beautiful. The colors of the sky reflect on the rocks as well. The water cascades over the rocks, seeming to be of red, orange and yellow color at the same time. I'm mesmerized. Everyone should come to Maldives, and watch the sunrise once in their lifetime. Suddenly, I hear the sound of the camera from behind me. I turn around to find Harry holding the instant camera, and he takes another picture.
"Harry, stop!" I say, when he takes a third picture of me. Harry chuckles, snapping picture after picture. I turn around and run toward the waterfall. I take a seat on one of the rocks, and place my hand in the water.
"Mus," Harry says. I turn around to find a butterfly on his palm.
"How'd you..." I say, shocked. The butterfly's in his right palm, and with his left, he raises my hand and places his right hand over my hand. As insane as it is, the butterfly flies slightly and lands on my palm. My eyes widen, and Harry snaps yet another picture of me. The butterfly flies off, and leaves me shell-shocked.
"Miracles do happen, Mus." Harry says, smiling fondly at me. I nod my head, smiling.
"Yeah, they do." I agree, getting up and engulfing Harry into a deep kiss. I want to forget about everything for just a little while. I want to forget about my illness. About my death. About my wishes. About everyone and everything around me. It's just me, and Harry. Our love for each other that grows stronger with each growing second.
"I love you." Harry murmurs against my lips. I deepen our kiss. My fingers are entangled in Harry's soft, curly, long hair and his hands are around my face.
"If we continue this, Mus, you and I will be reaching our hotel very late." Harry says, smirking.
"So be it," I say. Laughing, Harry molds his lips with mine again. We're perfect for each other in every way. The saying goes that there's one woman for each man, and vice versa. In Harry's case, I pray to God that there's more than one.
