"Harry, you need to stop passing out these hampers annually." Louis says, entering Harry's office. He's holding a huge gift basket in his arms. It's wrapped with plastic wrap, and the wrap is tied together with a golden ribbon. I can't see what's inside the basket though.
"Why are you holding a gift basket?" I ask Louis. He looks at me, then at Harry, raising an eyebrow.
"See, even Mus can't figure out what the heck this is." Louis says, matter-of-factly. He walks over to where I'm seated. Louis sits down beside me, and starts untying the ribbon. "Let's see what Mr. Styles has put into the basket this year." I watch Louis, as he unties the ribbon, and then tears at the plastic wrap.
"Harry, you could've at least made the wrapping simpler." Louis complains about yet another thing, regarding the hamper. Harry, on the other hand, is not interested in discussing the hamper at all. In fact, throughout this conversation, he hasn't looked up from his computer screen even once.
"Harry!" Louis exclaims. Harry looks up from the computer screen, completely clueless.
"Oh hey, Louis. When did you come?" Harry says, grinning. Louis rolls his eyes, huffing.
"Mus, you're my bae," Louis says. "Harry, you just got downgraded and lost the privilege of being my bae."
"What's a bae?"
"Gosh, you're dense!" Louis flips Harry off and focuses on opening the hamper. Firstly, a mug, with 'Best Employee,' written on it comes out. "You know, Hazza, when every other employee gets the same hamper, with the same items, including this mug, it's not as important. It doesn't even feel special anymore." Louis places the mug in my lap, and diverts his attention back to the hamper. Next, he pulls out a pen. Louis rolls the pen between his fingers, pouting. Huffing, he hands me the pen as well.
"Geez Harry, thank you for the amazingly expensive mug and pen." Harry says in Louis' voice. "Aw shucks, no problem Louis. You're welcome." Louis narrows his eyes at Harry, and takes out the next item. It's a diary, that's made of leather.
"Is that real?" I ask Harry, as Louis hands me the diary. Harry nods his head. "It's beautiful, but that's bad Harry. You're the reason why innocent animals are being killed."
"Me?" Harry says, pointing a finger at his chest. "I killed a few animals by buying these diaries. Plus, it's the killers who are killing them, I'm just consuming the product." Harry shrugs his shoulders innocently.
"That's why the animals are being killed." I cross my arms over my chest, glaring at Harry.
"Fine, you win! Forgive me, m'lady." Harry joins his palms together. I laugh at his gesture.
"I give up! There's nothing special in here." Louis says, placing the basket on my lap. "Mus, you take it and enjoy it's boring goodies." Louis gets up and heads toward the door. He takes out his tongue at Harry, before leaving.
"You both are worst than children." I say, giggling at their childish behavior. "Harry, did Darcy approach you regarding going to live with Zahra?" Harry looks at me, confused.
"No, she didn't. But what do you mean?" Harry says, getting up from his chair.
"Darcy has got this crazy idea into her head that she wants to go and live with Zahra. Apparently, she's tired of Singapore." I explain, rolling my eyes at the foolish idea. "To top it all off, Zahra added fuel to the fire. She has told Darcy that her idea is excellent and that she should definitely come."
"Well...it's not such a bad idea." Harry says hesitantly.
"Not you, too!" I moan, throwing my head back. Harry chuckles, taking a seat beside me.
"Mus, I know it's horrible parenting if we let her go and live with Zahra because that's not what normal parents do. However, we're not normal parents. As a matter of fact, we aren't even normal people." Harry takes my hand in his. "Mus, it's not that bad of an idea, come on. At least give it the benefit of the doubt." I shake my head adamantly.
"Harry, it's not an idea that we should even consider. Don't...don't try and change my mind," I say. Harry pouts, looking at me as if I'm being highly unreasonable. "No...no, don't give me that look." I take my gaze away from Harry's face, focusing on the ceiling.
"Mus, you're not being reasonable." I point a finger at my chest.
"I'm not being reasonable? Me?" I say incredulously. Harry nods his head. "Dinner's off. I'm going home."
"W-Wait, Mus, come on." Harry says.
"Harry, you're being unreasonable." Giving him a fake smile, I grab the hamper, and shove the mug, diary and pen it. Hamper and phone in hand, I march toward the door and exit, slamming the door behind me.
*********
My phone rings yet again. I press the ignore button, and throw it back on my bed. As I look around the room, wondering what I should do tonight, my eyes land on the hamper. I didn't see what other items are inside it. Deciding that this is what I'm going to do tonight, I head toward the console and grab the hamper. I take a seat on the bed and place the hamper in front of me. I place the mug, pen and diary beside me. Next, a box of chocolates comes out. Godiva, yum. I open it eagerly and pop two chocolates into my mouth. Suddenly, my room door opens and Niall walks in, with Liam.
"Geez, thanks for knocking," I murmur.
"Mus, you're eating chocolates without us. I'm hurt," Niall says. Before I can blink, the chocolate box is snatched from my grip and it's in Niall's hands. He takes a seat on the edge of the bed, forgetting about the rest of the world because he's got chocolates. Liam shakes his head at Niall's love for food.
"Mus, how'd you get the hamper?" Liam asks me, taking a seat beside me.
"Louis didn't want his, so he gave it to me. Does Harry always make such amazing hampers?" I say, taking out a shirt that has, 'I love Singapore,' written on it. Liam nods his head.
"Harry goes all out for these hampers. It's his way of showing his colleagues how much he appreciates them. People get happy so I guess it works."
"Cool," I murmur. The next thing that I lay my hands on is very intriguing. It's an instant camera.
"That, for instance, is a very stupid item." Liam says, nodding toward the camera.
"I like it. In fact, looking at all three of these things I've got an idea."
"What?" Liam asks me curiously.
"Sadly, it's one that I don't want to share." Liam pouts, slapping my shoulder.
"Come on, spill." He whines like a child. I shake my head, sticking my tongue out at him. Crossing his arms over his chest, Liam gets up and heads toward the door.
"Niall, let's go. No one wants our company in here." Liam says, trying his best not to smile.
"Bye." I say, waving at Liam. He sticks his tongue out at me before leaving. I laugh as I grab the pen, diary and camera. I open the diary and begin to write.
