Harry's POV
Two and a half years earlier.
I ring the bell, staring at the doorknob. I wait for a few seconds, but nobody opens the door. Impatiently, I pound on the door with my fist.
"Coming!" Liam yells from inside the house. I keep pounding, even though I know Liam has already heard me.
"Bastard!" Liam yells, opening the door. His eyes widen the minute they come in contact with mine.
"H-Harry." He stammers, shocked. "Why are you here?" I shove him, and enter the house.
"Which bastard is pounding at our door?!" Louis yells from upstairs. Stamping my feet, I ascend the stairs, and rush towards Louis' room.
"I'm the bastard that's pounding at my own door!" I yell, barging into his room. Louis' eyes widen as well, and he stands up.
"H-Harry, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you." Louis apologizes.
"Don't assume things." I say, irritated.
"Harry, he apologized. Why the heck are you so mad?" Liam asks me from behind. I turn around, and grab a fistful of his collar.
"Why the heck am I so mad?!" I yell, pushing Liam against a wall. "Mus just accepted Josh's proposal, and she shouldn't have done that. She's mine! Mine! But, nobody understands that. Nobody cares about me. Why? And you ask me why I'm mad." I leave Liam's shirt, and head towards my room.
"I'm not bad. I've made bad choices, but I'm not bad." I mumble, shaking my head.
"Harry, let's talk." Liam says, and I know he's hot on my heels.
"I don't want to. No matter what I say, nobody cares."
"That's bullshit!" I enter my room, but before I can close the door, Liam places his foot between the door and the door frame.
"We all care, and we've said this multiple times." Liam insists. I clench my fists in anger. I'm ready to explode at any time, and when I do explode, the people around me will be in grave danger. Currently, Liam is the only person around me.
"Liam, can't you shut up? Just shut up for a minute." I say, kicking the side of my bed. I yelp in pain as a flaring pain shoots through my right foot.
"This is how you want to release your anger? By injuring yourself?" Liam questions. Liam has a death wish, I know it.
"I can't harm anyone else, can I?" I hop on one foot till the sofa and then I collapse on it. "I can't harm Darcy, and Mus because I care about them too much. I can't harm Josh because Mus will hate me forever."
"Why do you want to harm anyone?"
"I don't have an anger outlet. Since my teenage years, I've killed, and smuggled. That's all that I can do. Beat people, smuggle drugs, do human trafficking, and shoot."
"You changed, Harry. You are a different person." Liam says. "Mus, changed you, and it was a change for the better. Please, don't let her efforts go to waste. Don't turn back into a savage."
"Savage?" I let out a frustrated laugh. Why is everything about Mus? Why is she involved in everything that I do? Can't it be just me for once? Can't someone appreciate my efforts, instead of giving her credit for who I am? I changed. She didn't make me.
"She didn't change me." I say, through gritted teeth. "It is all my doing, and I choose to undo it. I don't want to be a nice person. I'm a gangster for crying out loud." Liam shakes his head. He gets up, and starts to head towards the door.
"Liam, can I give you one piece of advice?" I say, just before he opens the door. Liam nods his head, without turning around. "Don't ever fall in love. It's the worst thing in the world. It will ruin you for life." Without saying anything, Liam exits my room. Love is not something that we should cherish, it's a curse. It destroys us forever, and ruins us. A sensible man would never fall in love. I made the mistake of loving someone, but I will not do it again.
***********
"Don't tell Harry." I hear Liam say as I'm passing by his room. I stop in my tracks, and lean closer to the door.
"Yeah, I know. He's become so ruthless lately, and if he hears this..." Louis trails off, but I know what he was going to say. I show no mercy, nowadays. Whenever someone makes the smallest of mistakes in my gang, I kill them or ruin them for life. It gives me pleasure watching others suffer. Without knocking, I barge into Liam's room. Louis and Liam raise their heads, and look at me in alarm.
"Harry, what're you doing here?" Louis asks me, licking his lips nervously. Smiling, I place my undergarments on a table.
"I was walking by when I heard my name. I believe the matter that you are talking about concerns me." I say, enjoying Louis, and Liam's nervousness.
"It's n-nothing." Liam stammers. I shake my head.
"It must be something, since it's so damn important to hide it from me." I say, taking a seat on the couch. "Please tell me." Louis sighs, resignedly.
"The cops conducted a raid on our warehouse in Manchester." Louis says, not meeting my gaze.
"Excuse me?" I ask him, incredulously. "Which asshole is in charge of our Manchester warehouse?" Louis and Liam are suddenly interested in their shoes.
"Do I have to repeat myself?" I raise an eyebrow, questioningly.
"Z-Zayn." Liam whispers, but I manage to hear him. My eyes widen in shock. Zayn has been messing up a lot lately, and I can't tolerate that. I have to do something about him.
"Get ready. We need to leave for the airport in twenty minutes." I say, getting up. I pick up my undergarments, and exit the room.
"This is not the friend who we love." I hear Louis say as I head down the hall. Louis and Liam need to learn how to whisper. Why does everyone think I've changed? I haven't changed. I simply fixed my priorities. I enter my room, and shut the door behind me. I've packed everything, except for my hand-carry. I hate shifting from one country to another, but I have to. Without me, none of the nincompoops in my gang work. Therefore, I have to shift from country to country, making sure everything's in order. I still can't believe that Zayn made such a big blunder. Women. I heard that Zayn has found a girlfriend. Women are distractions, and nothing more. I've told this to my friends, and colleagues time and time again. However, they don't listen.
"Harry!" Niall calls from downstairs, interrupting my train of thoughts.
"What?" I yell back, zipping my suitcase.
"Let's go! I want to stop at Burger King, before we go to the airport." Niall says, entering my room. I roll my eyes. Niall has worms in his stomach, I'm sure of it. He's always hungry.
"Fine." Sighing, I zip up my hand carry, and place it on the floor. Niall smiles at me, and exits the room. The only person who I don't hate is Niall. I don't think anyone can hate him. I used to tell people that Niall's smile is contagious. However, I don't find it contagious anymore. In fact, I don't even remember when I smiled in the past few years. I find nothing good about life anymore, so there's no point in smiling. I hate people who smile all the time. It's sickening.
"Harry, let's go, otherwise we'll miss our flight." Niall yells again.
"Okay! Coming." I say, lugging my suitcase behind me. We better leave right now, otherwise we'll actually miss our flight to Singapore.A/N: This chapter is for NarrysStalker she asked for a chapter where I explain where Harry went after Josh proposed to Mus.
