Steve getting jealous because he thinks you like Soda!

"I can't believe this, Soda! She's been our best friend for what, 10 years now, and you're just suddenly showing interest in her?" I yelled at Soda, my best friend. We were on break at work, and he had out of the blue decided to tell Y/N that he likes her.

"Well, how could I have before? I was with Sandy," he defended himself. It was true, he was with Sandy for a long time, but he usually told me everything. If he really liked her, why hadn't he told me before? And why didn't he know that I'd had a crush on her since we were 7?!

"What's up with you today, Steve?" He asked. "Is everything okay?" I rolled my eyes. Why didn't he know what was going on? How didn't he realize that like every other girl ever, as soon as he said something, they'd fall head over heels for her and leave me all alone?

"Just forget it," I said, going back out. A car had driven up, and I had to go pump their gas. The person rolled down their window, and I said hello, asked how much they wanted. She took off a pair of sunglasses, smiling at me. The girl was beautiful, stunning even.

"Hey, Y/N," I said, opening her gas. I always felt better when I saw her, even though I knew that Soda liked her too.

"Hey," she smiled. "Is Soda in there?" I nodded.

"Yeah, he's inside. I'll go get him." I ran inside to go get him.

"Your girlfriends here to see you. I'll be in here," I said, annoyed. He stared at me for a second, then shrugged and walked out. I had been waiting for 10 minutes when Soda got back.

"She wants to talk to you," he said. I raised my eyebrow.

"What?" I asked. He repeated himself, and I just stood her.

"Go out there," he pushed me, lightly. So I did.

"Hi," I said to her.

"Hey," she said back.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked. She didn't say anything, just blushed. I figured Soda would have said something if he did ask her out, so I decided to do something crazy.

"Do you wanna go bowling on Friday night?" I asked her. She shrugged.

"Sure. Should we invite Soda?" I shook my head.

"N-no. I meant just the two of us." I was praying she wouldn't say no now. But she smiled.

"Like a date?" She asked. I nodded. Just like a date.

"Sure Steve. I'd love to. Hey, why haven't you asked me out before?" She questioned. I shrugged. Because I was too embarrassed. Too nervous. Too worried that my best friend would like my other best friend more than me.

"Just waiting for the right time," I lied. She smiled.

"I think now was the perfect time," she said, taking my hand. She hadn't gotten out at all. I bent down to kiss her cheek.

"See you Friday then? Pick you up at 7?" I asked. She grinned.

"That sounds great, Steve."
