"Kirstie! You're awake!" I practically screamed. She half smiled.
"I don't get it. Why do you guys make such a big deal out of me waking up?" Kirstie asked. Scott came up behind me and I made way for him.
"Because you are part of our family Kirst. Family care for each other," Scott answered.
"Thanks Scott," she said with a smile but then she winced.
     "Does it hurt?" Mitch asked.
"Only when I smile fully and move my head," Kirstie answered.
"Kirstie?" Avi asked behind me. Me and Scott walked into Kirstie's room so Avi could stand in the doorway.
     "Yes Avi," Kirstie replied.
"I'm sorry," he said. We all looked at him in confusion.
     "For what?" Kirstie asked.
"It's my fault you got hurt. If I didn't ask to do a soundcheck and instead did the floor scrubbing for you I would be the one to get hurt. Not you and I'm sorry. And it's my fault-" Avi said. Kirstie interrupted him though.
"Avi! It's not your fault. It was an accident. You don't have to be sorry. If it is anyone's fault it should be mine. I scared you guys just because I hit my head somewhere. Plus I wasn't even paying attention. I...had my mind on...other things...at the time," Kirstie answered. We all looked at her.
"Other things?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"I...never mind. It's nothing really," she answered me.
"Kirstie?" Mitch asked. Kirstie took a deep and shaky breath.
"Fine...when I was cleaning the floor I thought of that girl under the park bench. Whenever I think of her I get this huge headache for some reason. It's like my mind is telling me something but I don't know what honestly," she answered.
     "Girl?" I asked.
"There's a child out there?" Avi asked.
"A child! On the streets?" Scott asked.
"Care to explain Kirstie?" Mitch asked.
"I...I don't really know. She looks like she's 8. Her hair is black and straight like my natural hair but right now it's messed up and all over the place. She has tattered clothes on and they are coated in mud and dirt. Last time I saw her she was under the park bench. After I hit my head I think I passed out. While I was asleep I had a dream about her. Uhh...let me see...Mitch remember that mechanical hamster I got for my 8th birthday?" Kirstie explained then asked.
"Of course I do. I was the one to give it to you," Mitch answered. Kirstie smiled and nodded and then she grimaced.
"Good. In the dream the girl was holding a mechanical hamster just like it. When she looked at me it was like looking into a mirror," Kirstie said.
     "How?" I asked.
     "Because...the girl...looked like me...when I was 8," Kirstie said.
"Is there anything else you know about her?" I asked.
"I think...but I don't know...I think her full name is Kirstin Taylor. My first name as her first. My middle name as her last," Kirstie said quietly. Out of the corner of my eye I saw grab Kirstie's hand and squeeze it. Something was up between those two. Could they be dating again? I asked myself. I set the though aside.
"Kirstin Taylor," I repeated. The group looked at me. I nodded and they understood that I meant that we would find out later.
