"Umm...Kirstie?" I asked, biting my lip.
"Yes Mitch?" Kirstie asked with a smile.
She was probably annoyed by the fact I kept stalling.
"We've been through so much and I want to thank you for staying the lovable Kirstie I met when I was young," I said, smiling shyly.
"Mitch you don't have to thank me for that. I only stayed strong because you were there. Is that what you wanted to tell me?" Kirstie asked, squeezing my hand.
"No. Not just that. Uhh...Well I learned the best couples are the ones that go through so much. That go through the obstacles that are meant to tear them apart. But we went through that and we came out being even stronger than we were before," I said, squeezing her hand back.
"Mitch what are you going on about?" Kirstie asked, making that adorable confused face I loved.
I took a deep breath and continued.
"I like it when you smile. And I love it when the reason is because I was the reason. I like it when I see you. And I love it when you're in my arms. I like it when you talk. I love it when you sing. I like it when I hug you. I love it when I kiss you," I said.
Kneel already you stupid baboon, I told myself.
Still holding onto Kirstie's hands, I got on my knee.
"Mitch what are you doing?" Kirstie asked, pulling her hands away to cover her mouth in shock.
"Kirstie I love you so much and I want to tell the world. You're my best friend, my human diary, and my other half. You mean the world to me and I love you. I love you so so much I don't have any words for it. And sure Scott catches us 'making out' multiple times but forget a hickey. I wanna mark my territory with my last name," I said.
I took out the ring box and opened it, revealing the beautiful ring I had bought.
It shined in the moonlight.
"Oh my god Mitch," Kirstie almost whimpered.
There were tears bunching up in her eyes.
"I know we've been together for like 6 days but we both know each other more than we know ourselves. Kirstin Taylor Maldonado, my love, will you make me the happiest man in the universe, and marry me?" I asked, looking at her with a small smile.
"Yes! Of course! Yes Mitch!" Kirstie exclaimed.
I slipped the ring on her finger gently while she let her tears loose.
It was a perfect fit.
"I love you Kirstie," I said, letting out a couple tears of my own.
"I love you too Mitch," Kirstie said, giggling uncontrollably.
We kissed to calm the huge amounts of excitement coursing through both of us.
It only made us even more happy.
The tears on both of us mixed.
We both let go of the kiss and Kirstie collapsed in my arms, crying tears of joy.
I hugged her close to me while she stared at the ring and buried herself in my side again.
"Do you like it?" I asked hopefully.
"I love it. I love you," Kirstie said in between cries of joy.
I wiped away my tears and wiped Kirstie's tears away as well.
