"So then what do we do now?" I asked. Kevin shrugged and I could tell on the look on Scott's face he was thinking. I took a glance at the two love birds in our group. Kirstie was snuggling into Mitch's arms and resting her head on his chest. Mitch was holding her tight and I could see he was trying to avoid touching her bandage.
"Give me time to think. I...think I might have a...change in plans," Scott said. I looked at him and Kevin did too. Kirstie shifted so she was still clutching Mitch but could look at Scott.
"Change?" I asked.
"I...I don't think we should leave the kid out there for two weeks," Scott said looking at the floor.
"So we can take her in now?" Kirstie asked excitedly loosening her grip on Mitch to stand by his side. Scott sadly shook his head side to side.
"Not now Kirst. We have too much going on already. But we might take her in later in the week though. The only problem is we all have separate houses hours away and we need to work together to take of her," Scott said.
"Youguyscanstayinmyhouseandilltakecareofeverythingaslongaswegettotakeinthatchildoutonthestreets," Kirstie said quickly.
"Huh?" Kevin's asked.
"Say that a little more slowly," I explained.
"You...guys...can...stay..." Kirstie said each word slowly.
"Ok Kirst a little bit faster," Scott said cracking smile. Kirstie giggled a bit and I saw Mitch smile at her.
"You guys can stay in my house and I'll take care of everything as long as we get to take in that child out on the streets," Kirstie said normally.
"Sounds like a good idea actually," I said.
"Avi!" Scott scolded me.
"What?" I asked.
"One thing at a time," Scott said.
"Oh...right," I murmured.
"Actually that could work," Kevin said.
"Please Scott. This is the last time I'm going to bother you," Kirstie begged. I saw Scott sigh.
"Ugh...ok fine. We'll be staying at Kirstie's house until tour and we'll be using this house to care for the girl as well. But not now. We'll take in the girl in a couple of days. First we have to prepare. Kirstie, go to the store with Mitch and get us some stuff we need to take care of the girl. Avi, call Esther and tell her about the girl and explain to her about bringing her on tour then work on the new schedules. Kevin, you help me with tour date additions," Scott said.
"Come on let's go to the store!" Kirstie yelled excitedly. I chuckled and I saw Mitch smile again.
"Hon, you aren't going to drive with that head injury. On the way we'll stop by the hospital to get a proper bandage," Mitch said grabbing Kirstie's hand.
"Ok!" Kirstie said cheerfully. Scott and Kevin stayed in an upstairs room to fix the tour dates. I went downstairs and took out my phone. I dialed my sister's number and brought the phone to my ear. I stood in the living room waiting while the phone rang and rang. Finally Esther picked up.
"Hello?" Esther asked.
"Hi," I said.
"Avi?" Esther said.
"Yep," I answered.
"What is it? I'm in the middle of paperwork," Esther said.
"Scott says we have a little change of plans in the tour stuff," I said.
"What? How?" Esther asked.
"Well you see...Kirstie has this idea of taking in this girl on the streets. So we planned that we are going to do exactly that," I explained.
"Ok that'll change some things but what does it have to do with tour?" Esther asked.
"Because the girl seems to be only 8...we have to take her on tour with us," I explained. I heard a frustrating sigh on the other end of my phone.
"Ugh...fine I guess we can do it...you guys are doing the paperwork for that though! I'm desk is already piled with forms!" Esther almost yelled.
"Yeah we already got that covered," I said.
"Ok anything else before I hang up on you?" Esther asked. I searched my brain. I should tell her about Kirstie's injury and her and Mitch being together again, I thought.
"Oh yeah. 2 more things actually," I said.
"Ok tell me the first thing," Esther said.
"Kirstie and Mitch are kinda...uhh," I said.
"What?" Esther asked.
"They kind of are together again," I said.
"What?! Won't that ruin the group?!" Esther practically screamed.
"Calm down sis! They're fine. You know how rarely they get into fights," I said.
"Right...sorry...ok see you later bro. Wait! Tell me the other thing," Esther said.
"So Kirstie hit her head while she was cleaning and there was blood but-" I explained.
"WHAT?! WHERE IS SHE?! IS SHE OK?! WHAT HAPPENED?! IS SHE AWAKE?! IS SHE IN THE HOSPITAL?! WHAT THE HECK! WHAT?!" Esther yelled. I pulled my phone away from my ear as Esther continued to freak out.
"Hey! Esther! Please let me finish!" I half yelled back. There was silence on the other end then a frustrated sigh.
"What happened?" Esther asked.
"Kirstie bumped her head on the corner of the fireplace and her head started bleeding. She was unconscious for a while but she's awake now. She went to the store with Mitch but they're stopping by at the hospital first. Kirstie is fine but the only thing that hurts is when someone touches her bandage. We haven't tried having her sing for a long period of time yet but she can still sing. It's all ok," I explained. I relaxed sigh was heard on the other end of my phone.
"Thank goodness...we need to try her singing later. She might not be cut out for tour with that injury. I'll make an appointment with a brain doctor to see if the cut injured her brain. If it didn't then she is fine. If she did hit her head hard enough though she might not be able to sing at some tour shows," Esther said.
"Got it. I'll tell her," I said.
"Good," Esther said.
"Bye sis," I said.
"Bye bro," Esther answered. We hung up and I got set to work on the paperwork I was assigned.Sorry this took so long to make. Sorry if sucks! Also I'm thinking of making another Mirstie story. What do you guys think? Peace out peeps!
