"Guys!" Scott yelled. He emerged from the staircase and looked at us. We were in the middle of testing Kevin's cello notes for most of the songs.
"Yeah?" Kevin asked. Scott smiled at us. We smiled back.
"Kirstie's awake!" Scott said.
"Wait! What? I'm coming!" Kevin exclaimed. They both bounded off up the stairs. I stayed and sat on the chair and stared at the floor. I blamed myself for Kirstie getting hurt. If I hadn't asked for getting a sound check and instead scrubbed the floor for her I would be the one to get hurt. Not her. There were slow steps on the stairs. I looked up and saw Scott staring back at me. I kept repeating what I should've done in my mind because of the blame I put on myself.
"You coming?" Scott asked.
"I don't know," I answered.
"Huh?" Scott asked.
"Well...I blame myself for Kirstie getting hurt," I explained.
"Don't blame yourself Avi. It's not your fault. Or anybody else's. It was an accident. I'm sure Kirstie will explain what happened once we're all there. Come on dude," Scott assured me.
"Plus, Kirstie asked for the meat and potatoes. You can't just give her one of the two. You know how picky she is," Scott said patting my back. I smiled and jumped out of my seat and followed him up to Kirstie's room. My footsteps echoed as I left the basement.I'm sorry I haven't posted in 4 days.
