He sits down on the bed and leans back until he is beside me. We are facing each other but not touching. The air between us is electrified and I want to reach over to touch his face but I'm not sure if he's upset with me for prying into his business.
"So, what do you want to do today?" he asks as he gently brushes my air behind my ear. It's just after noon and I have no plans for the day.
"I really have no idea," I say staring at him but really all I want to do is wrap myself in his arms. "We could start ripping out walls."
He smiles, "I'm not really ready for that yet. However, I did notice that the outside spigot at your house is leaking and while the bucket you have under it is catching the water, that's probably not helping your water bill. I would probably only need to a few things to fix it if you'd like for me to."
I smile because I was not looking forward to seeing that bill since the small, steady stream of water started a few weeks ago. My dad always took care of things like that and had planned to fix it before he passed away. I wasn't even sure where to begin in getting something like that fixed. "Are you sure you wouldn't care?"
"Not at all," he slowly leans over and presses his lips to mine. Unlike the quick kiss he gave me before getting into the shower, this kiss is gentle. His lips are barely on mine as he kisses my top lip and then makes a trail with his lips down my neck. His right hand makes its way to my waist as he rolls me onto my back and continues kissing down my neck. My hands find his arms and I feel his muscles tense as he tries to keep his weight off me. He lifts his head to look at me while my head and heart catch up. I've wanted to feel his kisses and hands on me for so long and now that it's happening, I'm getting lost in how he makes me feel. I know we need to slow down.
As if reading my mind, he gently kisses my forehead and sighs. "Let me get dressed and we will head to the store," he says releasing me and standing up. I can still feel the trail of kisses down my neck and the warmth of where is was lying against me. I sigh and roll over to watch him get dressed as I bring my mind back down from where it was flying.
He dresses in a pair of khaki shorts that are frayed in spots and a cut-off sleeve shirt. He grabs a hat and throws it on his head before slipping on his shoes. He puts one of his knees on the bed and reaches out his arms to help me up. I roll over onto my back and grab his hands but before he can pull me up, I surprise him by pulling him straight down on top of me. He smiles as he catches himself and I put my arms up to stop his chest from crashing all the way down on me. His gently lowers himself the rest of the way down until he is resting on his elbows on each side of me. His shoulders are so broad that I feel like I'm in my own little cocoon made completely of Jace. He's playfully smiling down at me as I reach my hands around each side his neck and kiss him. We stay like that for several minutes, kissing and exploring each other until he swiftly rolls onto his back taking me with him until I'm straddling him. He pulls my face away from his. "What are you doing to me, woman?" he asks as he playfully kisses my nose, and then my mouth, and then my chin.
I laugh, "I'm not sure what you are talking about." My lips find his again before I sit up and look down at him. He's smiling and I can't help but smile back. His hands are resting on my waist and I start to lean myself back towards him when I hear is phone start ringing in his pocket. Neither of us immediately move until the call goes to voicemail and it immediately starts ringing again.
He shifts slightly reaching his hand into his pocket, "I guess I should see who that is." He pulls his phone out as I move myself off of him to sit cross-legged beside him. I sigh and rest my chin on his bent knee while he takes the call.
