"Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is."

Chapter 1:

"You're killing me."

I am yelling at Lucas over the phone as I drag clothes from my drawers.

"I told you, not to wear that ugly sequined piece of filthy cotton," he yelled back angrily.

It all started yesterday. Per usual he had come over to my house after hanging out with his boyfriend. Did I mention he's gay? Anyways.

I wore this purple shirt with sequins. I love it. It's perfect with a pair of jeans.

He claims its ugly. It's not ugly, I swear. Okay, maybe a bit.

"Did you make your eye appointment?" I question placing a hand on my hip in sarcasm.

I wasn't going to let him win even if it is a bit ugly.

He huffed. "Was I supposed to?"

"Well, you clearly can't see my beautiful shirt so I guess so."

He continued to argue with me until my little sister opened the door. I ended the call, obviously not caring, and turned to my bright eyed annoying little sister. "What?"

She held onto the white door. "I just wanted to know why you were screaming..."

I mutter a 'wow' under my breath and shove her out of my room and lock the door.

Why couldn't god had given me a little sister that wasn't nosy or a huge crybaby? I'm cursed, I just know it.

Leave it to me to create a whole catastrophe. My mom knocks on the door loudly making my body float from its place on the bed towards the door.

"Hannah said that you pushed her out of your room and made her fall."

Her face clearly showed annoyance. Why did she feed into my sisters silly lies if she knew they were fake?

"I pushed her out of my room but she didn't injure herself."

My mom nodded and told me not to be pushing my sister again.

Why couldn't she be more understanding? My mother doesn't get it, she's an only child. She never had to deal with siblings knocking on your door trying to have a conversation with you because they have no friends. She never had to take into consideration the care of siblings.

Just as I lay back down on my comfy bed the doorbell rings.

"Kerri, Lucas is here." My mom yells loudly from the front door.

I stumble down the stairs and catch myself at the bottom. "Did you forget?"

Lucas was perched on the couch beside my little sister. "Forget what?" I asked him.

He rolled his piercing blue green eyes and smiled at me. "If you wouldn't have hung up on me, I would've gotten the chance to remind you that it's movie night and I'm on my way. But..." he trailed off.

I huffed and sighed as I walked up the stairs. He handed my sister her Barbie doll back and ran up behind me and carried me over his shoulder.

He was about 6 foot tall and had a body of a football player, no wonder the guys admired him. He was quite the eye candy. He got multiple dates a week by these hot freaking guys and he turned some of them down just to be able to make time to take me to the movies.
