Chapter 39:
(Kerri's POV)
That was the last I had seen of Grey. I never saw him again in school and not once had I talked to him. We lost all communications with each other.
I longed for his warm hugs. I slept with the plush blanket every night after that to remind me of what he smelled like. It soon lost its smell but I kept it Anyways.
As for Lucas, well let's just say that we had gotten past everything and moved on.
Graduation Day (present day)
"I can't believe that we made it!" Lucas yells giving me a huge hug.
I wrap my arms around his broad torso tightly and smile a gigantic smile.
"I can't believe we made it either," I whisper.
I cannot think of the last time I was this happy. Maybe it was prom? I went to prom with Lucas of course.
We exit the huge gymnasium and walk to be with my mom and Lucas' parents. They hugged us tightly and wiped the few tears that streamed down their faces.
"How about we go back to our house and order some pizza?" Lucas' mother piped up after our hugs and a few pictures.
We all were in agreement and headed in that direction soon after.
The day dragged. I had hopes that I would get my acceptance letter to Washington state tonight. As the night creeped in I got nervous by the second.
Hopefully I'll wake up to have a letter with my name on it tomorrow morning.
I got into the car with my parents after finishing pizza with Lucas and his parents. I haven't been so happy in my entire life. I hope this feeling never dissipates.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I yell into the phone at Lucas.
He had just found his letter. I run down stairs--still in my pajamas--and open the front door to see a letter addressed to me.
I scream into the phone and Lucas automatically giggles.
I run back inside and tear open the letter to see that the very first day of my entire life had only just began.
