Episode 18: Clearing things out

~Kaori's POV~

i checked the time and it's already 2:36am.

i played twinkle twinkle on Kousei's piano. and then i heard a sound of a creaking door. and then all of a sudden, i felt warmth.

Kousei hugged me from behind.

"do you need something?" i asked.

"you." i blushed like a tomato. fudge! >///< i turned around and checked his temperature. he's burning again.

"you, need to go back to bed. i'll get something to cool you down."

but he won't let me go. "Kousei.."

"Kaori.. i just want to stay like this." now that he knows what i feel, i don't know what i should do.

"get back to bed Kousei. i'll go with you." i stood up and he finally let go. but his hand held mine so i can't escape.

"lay down, i'll keep watch." i said smiling. he laid down but he made some space beside him. "here." he said patting the side he space out.

"it's okay. i can sleep here." i sat beside his bed. of course i'm sitting on a chair.

"i can't sleep." he said. wow. the fever's making him more bolder.

"okay.." i laid beside him and he hugged me. well, he has a fever, i'll just let this one pass, so i hugged him too.

i finally got sleepy and was sent off to dreamland.

the next morning, i woke up and saw Kousei still sleeping, he's still hugging me. i checked his temperature and his fever's gone.

i cooked breakfast again and received a call from mom.

"Kaori, are you going home? you've been absent yesterday. are you planning on being absent again?"

"no mom, but i don't know to be exact... Kousei's still not feeling well. no one's here to take care of him. his dad's not home and his mom is.. well.. not around anymore. she's somewhere in heaven watching over her son. so.. maybe i'll just skip for today.. can i? pleaaaaaasssseee?"

"on one condition, you help us out at the bakery."

"okay! love you mom!"

"love you too, don't get yourself sick there."

"i won't. bye."

then mom hung up on me. i return on cooking. fried eggs and bacon.

"hmm, smells good." Kousei sat on a chair in the dining area.

then after i'm done cooking i was about to undone the apron i'm wearing when to my surprise, Kousei took it off from me. "let me get that." then he took the ones i cooked.

he let it on the table and started to get some, i did so too myself.

"you're not going to school?"

"nope. i'm taking care of you."

"wha-- are you a nurse now?"

"yeah. probably. because of you." i started munching my food.

he keeps staring.

"okay now, that's it! what's up with the staring!? its making me conscious."

"s-sorry.. it just feels surreal."

"i actually never thought that you'd make me meals." he continued.

"i never thought you'd hug me a lot." i said looking at my food feeling a little flushed.
