(Sparrow's pov)

 I tried my best to not do anything odd in class. A lot easier for me rather than Emma. I think the teacher thinks Emma has a bladder infection because of the amount she's went to the bathroom. He even gave her a note. 

  I haven't said anything to anyone. I haven't talked to Emma because she's always talking to Harlie, they really get along. Sky was busy tackling people in  something called football every moment she wasn't in class. Either way though I'm not in any of theirs class since I'm only twelve. So I just didn't talk. The teachers didn't call on me likely since I'm new. 

  No one approached me, luckily. Maybe my cargo pants and turtleneck were just that scary. Or maybe my eyes were the problem. Everyone just thought they were contacts. Some still looked at me strangely though. I didn't care though, they were just humans anyways.

  After school Emma, Harlie and Sky went to get ice cream. Emma is willing to try it but I'm not. So I headed into some woods. My escape, where the other animals are. I can communicate with every animal though I bond the most with birds and rodents. 

  It doesn't take long to find friends. Though I did walk at least a mile. I quickly am hanging out with a few animals. I hang out with a few crows and a few rats. My favourite birds and rodents. 

  I spent nearly an hour with my new friends. That is until I suddenly hear leaves rustling behind me. I turn and see a boy about my age. He has curly brown hair and bright greens eyes. Unnatural bright green eyes. I can sense he's not human. I can sense it.

  "Sorry to bother you," he murmurs.

  "It's alright," I state with no emotion.

 "My name is Magnus," he grins at me.

 "I'm Sparrow," I reply much less eager.

 "You aren't human," he states.

 "How would you know that?" I ask worried.

 "I'm a wizard, well at least in training. Someday though I'll be the most magnificent wizard ever," he smiles.

 "No magical creatures live in this realm?" I am by this time confused.

 "You're wrong. A long time ago many escaped from the realms using incredible magic no one can perform now. In this realm there are wizards, vampires, werewolves, elves and fairies in disguise. We hide from the humans among them. What are you and how do you not know this?" he asked.

 "I am a wizard, yet to be trained. My sister and I were somehow teleported to this realm," I explain.

 "I could teach you a bit. I think we'll be great friends," he smiles.

"How would you know that?" I ask.

 "I can see visions of the future. By the way what's your ability?" he asks.

"I speak to animals," I state.

"Cool, see you tomorrow," He smiles and runs off.

 I'd like to be trained. Wizards are basically humans with special abilities until they are trained. It basically means you have magic in your blood and what you do with that is up to you. Emma and I were going to be trained but we got a little busy. 

 So magical creatures do live here. Well that will make this interesting. I just want to go home but if we are going to be great friends it must take a long time to get back.  I kind of want to be his friend more than going home. Maybe we are meant to stay here. Magnus and I will be great friends either way though I'm sure.
