Sky
On Wednesday we look around for a job. We come across this dinner at the edge of town called Jones dinner. We go through the door and a little bell signals that we have entered. A woman comes from the kitchen. She looked like she was in her thirties, she had faint red hair that was tied back in a ponytail and kind brown eyes. "Hello" she smiles sweetly. "Hi, I'm sky, this is harlie, we saw your sign" I say gesturing to the sign that said 'help wanted' on it. "Ah, yes. Well there is an opening for waitresses if that's ok" she smiles. "That would be great" I grin. "Ok then. You both can work the same shift, Tuesday's and Friday's at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm." She states. "Cool" harlie says.
"So, what job did you guys get?" Sparrow asks. "Waitressing" harlie states. "Are you sure it's safe for sky to be near people?" Magnus questions. "I go to school all the time, and I haven't killed anyone yet" I argue. "Or so you claim..." Magnus says in a suspicious tone. I roll my eyes at him. Magnus suddenly starts hovering in the air. He shrieks and struggles to try and get back to the ground. Jordan appears behind him, lifting him up by his armpits. They both hover a few feet in the air. Jordan laughing, and Magnus yelling at him. Jordan puts Magnus back on the ground. "Just because you learned an invisibility and flying spell doesn't mean you have to be a jerk" Magnus scowls. "Uh, yah it does" jordan says matter of factly.
"It's going to snow tomorrow, in the morning" I say, stirring the noodles on my plate with my fork. Our parents were out late working, so we were watching over ourselves. "But weather man said it was going to be very sunny and warm tomorrow" sparrow states. "I'm positive it's going to snow tomorrow" I say. "How do you know?" Emma questions. "just a feeling" I shrug. Magnus then bursts through the door. "It's going to snow tomorrow!" Magnus yells, his eyes wild. "Yeah, we know. Sky told us." Magnus stops in his tracks. "How do you know?" he asks me. "Because, I'm all powerful" I state. For a moment he looks like he believes me, then he is back to his normal look he usually gives me. the 'I don't believe you' face. "Whatever, don't believe me" I say shoving noodles into my mouth.
"Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm all powerful" harlie speaks up. "I wanna be all powerful" Sam whines. oblivious to the fact that there is a random stranger in our house. "Wait. Why is he here?" Lucy points at Magnus. "I was wondering the same thing" I glare at him. "Wow, tension. is he like your ex boyfriend or something" Sam asks me. I choke on the noodles in my mouth and go into a fit of coughing. Magnus laughs at me. "He. Is. Not. My. Boyfriend" I say between coughs. "Yeah, exactly, ex boyfriend" Sam states. "He is not anything" I say after I finish coughing. "Wow hurtful, I thought we had something!" Magnus says in mock surprise, clutching at his heart, well, where it would be if he had one. "Get out" I yell pointing to the door he came from. He laughs and runs out the door.
I wake up to frost all over my window. I look out of the window to see snow covering the ground and trees. It was still snowing, coating the ground with even more snow. I hear Emma's shrieks in the distance. I run to harlie and Emma's room, maybe or maybe not slipping a few times from the socks on my feet. Emma is jumping up and down glowing a bright pink. "Snow!!!" She screams. She runs past me and we all follow her. I jump in my boots, not bothering to find a coat, and chase Emma outside. Emma dives into the snow and starts rolling around giggling like a child. Sparrow is a little more hesitate to touch the snow, but once she realizes that Emma hasn't died from the snow covering her face, she sits down beside her crazy sister. "So, how do you like snow?" I ask leaning against a tree. "Cold... But awesome" sparrow smiles. "Fun!!" Emma says. She sneezes, sending snow that was on her face flying off.
After playing in the snow for a bit, we get ready and head to school. Lucy was whining about how she should be able to skip a few grades because she's 'so smart' she was also whining about not being able to be in the Same school as river, since they were pretty close friends. They were in a class that had grade fives and sixes together in elementary, but then river got older and had to go to our school while Lucy was still in elementary. Sam was whining about how, since it snowed, he couldn't play soccer, and that soccer season was over. Magnus was still questioning how I knew it was going to snow, and I didn't tell him, mostly because I had no idea. Jordan was happily listing off all the sports that you could play in the winter to Sam. Sam was refusing to except the fact that there are other sports besides soccer. Harlie was explaining to me why I should keep the work and notes I'm given in class, instead of throwing them away, Aurora was telling everyone what color they would look the best in, sparrow was talking quietly to lilac, Emma was bugging innocent bystanders and River was laughing at strangers reactions to Emma's insanity.
After school aurora and our parents went out on a double date, and river, Forrest, emerald, lilac, and Aurora were going to hang out at our house until the parents came back. We all waited excitedly, some more excited then others. Cough cough, sparrow, cough cough. Finally their minivan pulls into the driveway. River dashes over to the house, Forrest is walking closely to his mother, who is holding her little baby, emerald. And Lilac is walking towards the house with Aurora. They seem to be smarter when going up the stairs. Since river dashes up on the deck and slips on the ice that was covering it, slipping off the deck and falling into a snow bank. While lilac and Aurora carefully walk to the door. Forrest walks in silently looking around the house, then walks up to Emma, harlie and sparrow and I. "I like your house" he whispers, then silently walks back to his mother. "What did he say?" Sparrow questions. "I think he said 'I like your blouse'" Emma states. "I thought he said 'I like your mouse'" harlie says. "Guys, he said 'I like your house'" I roll my eyes. "I think 'I like your mouse' makes more sense" Emma says seriously. "We don't even have a pet mouse!" I yell at her.
