Sky

"Hey, uhh.." Edward stands at the door way. It was a hour before everyone would get up to go to school and work. I had just woke up. I rarely get up earlier, but when I do it's nice and calming. "My names sky" I state. "I knew it! You look like a sky" Edward smiles. "What do you want?" I ask him. "I brought you food" he states holding up a box of donuts. "I was always taught to not take food from strangers" I say, trying to resist the heavenly donuts that were in front of me. "By who?" He asks. I have a feeling he can read minds. "Myself." I say. "Well.. Stranger or not, I have the right to see my brother" he says crossing his arms. "Here, see him." I say handing him a picture of dad. I then shut the door and lock it. "Oh sky, I thought we could be mature about this" I hear Edward laugh. I whip around to see him sitting on the couch.

I run upstairs to harlies room. Edward luckily doesn't follow me. "Harlie, Edwards here" I yell. She wakes up and goes to tell dad, and I wake up sparrow. Emma is still passed out and dad said not to wake her. There was an opinion of her getting cured by butterfly's in the hospital rather then at home, but Emma refused to go to sleep in a hospital because of the Dr enemy incident.

"Edward, get out" dad commands. "I really just want to hang out with you, why can't I?" Edward asks, looking sad. "Because you've made your choices." Dad states. "Look, I've changed, I don't want to hurt anyone, I just want to help." Edward pleads. Dad stares at him for a few moments, wondering if he's telling the truth or not, then sighs. "Ok, you can come back here at 4:00, that's when everyone will be home." Dad says. "Thank you thank you thank you!!!" Edward cheers, then disappears.

At 3:55 we get off the bus and walk to the front door. At exactly 4:00 Edward appears and we let him in when dad shows up a few minutes after. Mom is still at work. She usually has to stay back to get work done, or help out kids after school.

Don't ask me how, but in a few short minutes Edward was playing with dolls in the living room with Emma. Emma then forced me to play. I was making a little sword out of construction paper for 'my' doll when I hear Lucy shouting. She comes running through our set up with a stuffed dragon in her hand. "Roar!!! Attack of the dragon!!" She shrieks smashing everything and knocking Emma over. Emma turns bright red and sparrow has to come in to calm Emma down. Emma actually looked like she was going to kill Lucy, so Lucy ran away before any real damage can be done.

Sam's pov

"Goal!" I shout scoring a point on the soccer game on my computer. Sky says I'm scarily obsessed with soccer. But I think she's wrong. Just because my room has soccer ball wallpaper, my bed has soccer blankets and I have pictures of soccer balls and players all over my room doesn't mean I'm obsessed. I am doodling a soccer ball with my soccer ball stationary when Lucy comes bursting through my door with her favourite stuffed dragon in hand. She joins Lilly under my bed. I put down my soccer ball pencil. "Lucy get out" I scold her. "No! Emma's going to kill me!" She whines. "I'm sure she has a good reason, now go" I say pointing to the door. She doesn't move. I pick up a soccer ball off the floor and throw it at her, a little harder then I meant to. She starts crying. "Shhh, Lucy, it's ok," I try to calm her down. Mom comes running in. "Why is she crying?" She asks, hugging a crying Lucy. "Um... She threw a soccer ball at the wall and it bounced back and hit her in the face" I lie. Lucy was too busy crying to object. Mom left holding Lucy.

"You're mean" I look up to see sky leaning on my door, arms crossed. "Like you wouldn't do the same thing" I roll my eyes at her. "No I wouldn't." She says. She then turns to leave. I'm not worried about her snitching to mom. She can be mean sometimes, but she would never snitch. She likes to deal with things by herself. Which is why I should expect her to get me back.

Emma's pov

After we finish playing dolls we start colouring. This time harlie and sparrow are willing to join. "Sky's birthday was October 31st, we should plan her a surprise party." Edward states randomly. "Really? Her birthday is on Halloween?" Sparrow asks. "Typical." Harlie laughs, then turns serious. "Why didn't she tell us?" She asks. "She doesn't feel like it's important." Edward says. "How do you know this?" Sparrow asks sceptical. "Oh, I can read minds." Edward laughs. "Really! Read my mind!!" I shout. Turning pink. "I can only read the minds of people who introduce themselves to me" he explains. "I'm Emma!!!!!!!!!!!!" I squeal. He chuckles. "Ok, you are wondering how people make paint" he looks at me questionably. "Yep!" I smile. "That's really random" sparrow states.

"So, are you not as powerful as dad?" Harlie asks.

"I am probably much more powerful then Harold (harlies dad)" he laughs. "Then why is it difficult for you to read minds?" Sparrow asks, "every wizard has limitations, and even if you practice 100% 24/7 you will still have faults." Edward explains.

Our plan was that when school ends we would make sure sky wouldn't get on the bus, and that we would beat her home. We would put a slowness spell on her, and a spell that temporary keeps her from using her powers. That would give us enough time to get home and get ready to surprise her.

Sky's pov

"Ugh, stupid!" I mumble. Harlie put a slowness spell on me! I was still only walking a bit slower then everyone else, but I couldn't even use my powers. "Hey sky!" Maggot says walking up to me. I am trying to get along with him better, he does hang around all the time. "Magnus, can you be an eyewitness? Say that it wasn't my fault I killed my entire family." I state. "Don't mind me asking, but why would you kill your whole family?" He asks. "They put a slowness spell on me, and enabled my powers" I say.
"I could tell, you are walking really slow. But why don't you just remove the spell?" He asks. "I can't, then they'll know. Besides, I'm pretty sure I have a surprise waiting for me at home." I explain. "Why do you care if they know?" He asks. "I don't know.. I guess I'm still not used to being out of the orphanage, not used to not having to hide my powers." I say. It's strange how a simple conversation can actually make you realize that a person has emotions and feelings.

I get to the front steps to see Emma. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill everyone?" I asks her. "Because, I'll buy you chips if you don't" Emma states. That's a good deal. "Ok."

Emma opens the door, inside are letters taped to the wall that read 'happy birthday!' And there are red, purple, green, and white balloons everywhere. "Happy late 17th birthday!" Harlie, mom, dad, Edward, sparrow, Lucy, and sam shout, jumping out of there hiding spots. I stay silent. How did they even find out about my birthday? "How did you guys find out?" I ask looking at harlie. "Edward Told us." Harlie rats him out. "For a good reason!" Edward argues.

"Now, let's have some cake" Harlie smiles, then pulls out a big chocolate cake. Do people usually have cake on their birthday?

The cake was awesome, and I was even giving gifts, Which I was told was also a birthday tradition.

"You guys really didn't need to get me anything" I say. But they force me to open the presents anyway.

The presents were, a cool skull bracelet, a black hoodie, a stuffed bear, and a bag of candy.

I thanked everyone, and by then it was time for bed.

"So, how did you like your birthday?" Sparrow asks as I lay in my bed. "It was great, but I guess I'm not used to it.. They don't throw birthday parties at the orphanage and I basically spent my whole life there" I shrug, even though she can't see me. "Well, now you can get used to it." Sparrow says positively.

Sparrows right.
