Chapter 7
TAYLOR'S P. O. V.
It takes me a few seconds to speak. "Y-yeah. It's Taylor."
He exhaled a relieved sigh.
"Good. I thought I had the wrong number." He chuckled slightly.
"How did you get my number?" I asked, noticing my hands were shaking.
"It doesn't matter. I was just calling to see if you were okay. You left class and never came back."
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for asking, Bentley."
"I know it's none of my business, but why did you run out?"
I thought for a second. Should I really tell him? I'll just make up something.
"Well I wasn't feeling good, and the next thing I know, I was in the nurse's office. I passed out because I was dehydrated." I said, not giving much details.
"Oh. So are you sure you're okay now?"
"Yup."
Pause. "So uh, I'll just get straight to it. Do you wanna-"
I heard a man's voice in the background, cutting him off. Something about dishes. I waited impatiently. Do I wanna what?
"I gotta go Taylor. See you tomorrow?"
What were you about to say? "Yeah, see you tomorrow. Bye Bentley."
"Bye Taylor" and he hung up.

"Here you go mom." I said, while putting a cool rag on her neck. She's been throwing up all morning.
"Thank you, for everything. I'll be alright. It's time for you to go to school." She said, leaning back against the wall. It was 7:05.
"Mom, are you sure? I'll be fine-"
"Go," she said, her hand upside down and flicking her fingers towards me. "Or else I'll have kick you out." She finished it off with a wonderful dry heave.
"Mom-" She threw up into the toilet, again. I held her hair back and brushed it with my fingers gently. After an other minute, she stopped.
"There is no way in hell I'm leaving you here alone." I said, with finality in my voice.
"Okay. Stay home. I knew I was going to lose that argument anyway." She said, a smiled etched on her face.
I smiled. "Good. Now let's get you to bed." I held my hand out, offering her help to get up. She rinsed her mouth out with mouthwash, and washed her face with cold water. We stumbled out of the bathroom together, and I gently placed her in the bed.
"Get some rest Mom. You need it." I said, pulling the covers over her.
"Thank you." She said tiredly as her eyes fluttered shut.
I kissed her forehead, and walked back into the bathroom to get the bucket under the sink, in case she, you know. I set the bucket next to her bed, for easy reach. I smiled one more time when I heard soft snores from her. I walked out quietly and shut the door behind me.
I decided to text Zach, Lauren, and Blake to let them know I won't be at school.
Taylor: Mom's sick, staying home today. I'll be back tomorrow.
I locked my phone and walked into my room. Right now I was just wearing Jean shorts and a t-shirt that had the school jaguar on it with the sleeves rolled up. I changed into a black spaghetti strap tank top and white scoffes. I slipped all of my braclets off and put them in my top drawer, then jumped on my bed and snuggled into my zebra blanket. After a half hour or so of watching youtube videos on my phone, I eventually fell back asleep.
